Anyone been there? Did you like it? Would you recommend?

Thanks for your input! :flower:

We go there by cab every time we are in Cozumel, by ourselves. Our son enjoyed the Mayan ruins walk (had to do something educational for school), watching the dolphin show from the dock and of course the great snorkeling right off of the beach. The price is very reasonable, they have locker rooms and great restaurants right on the beach. I love  it!

We were there last February. We took a cab on our own (if I remember correctly, we paid $10 one-way from the ship port). The snorkeling was awesome. I saw the biggest Baracuda I've ever seen! A snorkel "guide" was putting together a group to take out snorkeling and he invited us to join in. He provided this service for tips. He took us all over the area and made sure everyone was kept safe. The fish followed him...it was apparent that he had fed them at one time or another! We ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant on the beach...the food and service were great! My DH "hired" the mariachi band to play "my favorite song" (La Coucaracha -- the only Mexican song I know). I never knew that song had so many verses! :rotfl2: What fun! We will definitely return to Chankanab the next time we are in Cozumel!!

We just went there last week. We were scheduled to do the Royal Dolphin Swim (outside of Disney) and had to go there to do it. We paid $10.00 for 4 of us for a taxi ride there (same price back), once we got there we had to pay $12.00 each to get in the park and we all thought it was well worth it. I didn't realize the park was so big and had so many things to do and look at. Definately go...you won't regret it!! The beaches are beautiful and you can watch or do the dolphin swim, they also have sealions, tropical birds, lockers, resturant...it's GREAT...I'd definately go again even if I wasn't scheduled to go out there for the dolphin swim.

Loved Chankanaab! Was surprised by the cleanliness and the abundance of critters (which made it cool!), such as iguanas, macaws and pelicans. We did not do the excursion, but took a taxi on our own. Be aware that the park entrance must be paid in cash.

Highly recommended!!!!!

We took a cab there ourselves and loved it too- its a great place to relax, wander around, snorkel and do a whole lot of 'nothing'. (Which is exactly what cruises are for!) While walking on the ruins 'path', we encountered the largest lizard I've even seen... it was the size of a cocker spaniel! It hissssed at us, and then ran back in the woods...
