Hi :)
Okay next year I will be going to a new school. It will either be a private school, or a college(dual-enrollment).
Even if I go to private school, I will go school shoppingg next week.
I have been wearing the girly, hollister-type clothes.
Don't get me wrong, I love them, but I'm really starting to like the rockerish type look.
Does anyone think this is weird when people just change there look?

I don't think it's weird. Just about everyone changes how they look. I did this summer. I always wore clothes that you would just lounge around in. Now I wear more designer clothes. Got contacts and just changed how I look. DO what you want. It's your appearance.

I also like the rocker look.

I don't think it's weird, people change their styles all the time, it's a good think if you ask me. At the moment, I'm in the "preppy" "girly" designer name-brand phase. I pretty much only wear Abercrombie and Aeropostale. And all of their cute accessories (: I do like the rocker type look, though.

The main thing is to be yourself. I don't think it's weird when people change their look because it's their decision.

I remember this sophomore year I kept changing my hairstyles from the beginning to the end.

At the beginning I had a 90's Vanilla Ice Style, then I had a skater style, then I just had it down all the time. Then I had a Pauly D Blowout Haircut, then I went back to having it down, and I ended the year rocking the fauxhawk. I plan on keeping that hairstyle.

Nope I don't think it's weird at all, I went from being a super girly girl wearing nothing but AE, Hollister, Aero..yada yada all those clothes that look wayyy similar to wearing dressier clothes like skinny jeans, flats, dressy tops & more accessories.

It's not weird, sometimes people need a change. But as long as you remain yourself.

I've lived in tees and jeans since sixth grade, and now I'm almost a junior working on branching out into nicer things.

define "rockerish type look"?
wear whatever you want, i'd say.
i don't stick to a 'type.' if i like something, i'll wear it.
i love my skinny jeans and tshirt combo, but i also love wearing dresses and skirts just as much.

Just tshirt & jeans. IDK if it is technically rocker(so don't yell at me LOL) but like Miley cyrus type of clothes.

I agree completly with that!:thumbsup2

I'd say go for it. Change your look.
I have so much respect for people who will just do what they want, because if you don't you're never going to know.
I'm pretty boring, to be honest. My clothes aren't really that exciting. Give me a pair of skinny jeans and my favourite band shirt and I'm happy. I own a load of check shirts which I love too.
Something I do a lot is if I have to go out for a fancy meal or a birthday, I'll wear a really nice sweater dress or top and then tights and my converse. my parents hate it, but I'm comfy wearing it, so I'm ok.

A t-shirt and jeans isn't really rocker style.

OK all i can say is I'm glad my school had a uniform :)

NO WAY!! [It's not weird] When people are like a girly girl and they come back off summer break and their like a depressing emo sort of person it's weird but just changing your look/clothes is nothing... people should so do it every season!!!

When I was at college and what I'll wear at university and basically what I wear everyday changes to match my mood

I'm a real girly girl so wear lots of colors and cute outfits with loads of accessories and I love to dress up any outfit AND HATE dressing down... but when I couldnt be bothered I would turn up to college in jeans/hoodie/tshirts and converses. The good thing was I went to an art school so anything went really and people knew what I normally dressed like so when I turned up like that they knew I was tired or ill or something :)

What I've always thought is clothes/fashion is basically how you express yourself and your mood/feelings/thoughts to others... so if your into the rockerish look go for it and if you feel like staying with the girly look go with that... as long as your comfortable and happy who cares!!!

As for the Miley Cyrus rockerish look, I love it but I know I couldnt pull it off... the thing is its mostly like jeans [uh] and blacks and whites and in the UK people need colors to make them happy against the boring horrible weather!! :rotfl2:

do it... changing ur look is a way of growing and changing as a person. it took me forever till i found a look i love
5th grade: oversize t's and jeans(there was a bullying problem that year and i had super low self asteem)
6th grade: JUSTICE and limited too (i was rly tiny, wearing a childrens size 12!)
7th grade: abercrombie/hollister (trying too hard to fit in)
8th grade: 80's/pat benitar-cyndi lauper/ rock(what a mess[can u say silver skinnys paterned thermal and neon patterend tank top?]!!! i was trying too hard to stand out after my bout of fitting in!)
9th grade: a good mix of designer pieces with some staples from a bunch of different stores. more subtle colors and a lot of layering. i bit more uperend than t's and jeans. more skirts and blouses and dresses.
now i'm going into 10th grade and i think i've foun d my 'look'. and who knows it may change next year.. but for now i'm happy.

There is nothing wrong with changing your look, as long as it's really you and you aren't doing it just to fit in.

I've changed my style subtly for a long time now. I used to wear only jeans and graphic tshirts. Now I'm all about simple prints and no brand names plastered over my clothing. In a few months, who knows where I'll be headed next.

I don't think it is wierd i just changed my look this year because i wanted to be in the spotlight more and i got more confidence. I think as long as you stay true to yourself you can change your look a million times. I think it is fun to experiment with looks.

No thats not weird.
My style has changed a lot through the years you cant help change just embrace it :]

Go for it! In my opinion, it's far worse to wear clothes you don't like because you fear what others will think.

I was a total cute tee/jeans/converse girl, but now I've branched to pairing my tees with skirts and jewelry, and tunics/dresses over my jeans. Do what makes you happy.

so by what you're defining Im guessing you want an edgier look ? I'd say go for it. I don't think its wierd for people to change their look. I used to just wear lounge clothes but now im wearing more jeans and flowy tops and scarves and stuff like that sometimes.

go for it. i change last year i started in tee's then i went dressier then i went to tanks and a cover of some sort i start band camp tommorrow and im more than likely going to go tank shorts and sandals.
just whatever you do, embrace it and when people ask why you changed just say you wanted to experiment with what you liked
