So we were flying to Wilderness Lodge Nov 27 until Dec 4. We were staying at disney parks all week and going to seaworld that Friday for christmas show. We have now decided to drive down to disney from connecticut. We will now leave our house Saturday in the middle of the night and hope to get to florida Sunday late afternoon. We are thinking of going to the Reinissance orlando of Seaworld hotel, go to seaworld sunday night for the christmas shows and lights, sleep at hotel sunday night and go back to seaworld (tickets are buy one day get one free) and then sleep over again monday night and drive to wilderness for tuesday morning. If we stay at a seaworld hotel we will also get free shuttle so we don't have to pay for parking and free food all day at the park.

What do you all think?

Do you like Reinisance orlando hotel?
Do you think its worth going to seaworld at night while exhausted only for couple hours for christmas show (thats the only reason we are doing seaworld to begin with and they only have it fri-sun at that time)

So excited to add another couple days to our vacation and NOT FLY since I hate to!

After having done numerous night trips to FL, I can say that you probably aren't going to feel much like touring a park that night! Plus if you have any delays along the way, it will wreck your plans.

We have found that we like to leave early in the morning and arrive in Orlando late a night. The driving is easier (because of the daylight) and we wake up rested are ready to go the next morning. Can you leave early Sat. morning, get in Sat late and enjoy the day at Sea World on Sun?

Can't help you with hotel as I have never stayed there but as I business traveler I have never had any problems with any of the Renaissance hotesl I have stayed in (assuming it is part of the chain.)

Just wanted to say, what awesome places to stay! Love both your choices.

Here are some Trip Advisor reviews regarding the Renaissance:

It's a very popular hotel with trip advisor reviewers.

I don't think you'll feel like doing much the night you get there, but you can see. SeaWorld though is wonderful for Christmas. It's our number one choice for Christmas Day.

Have a wonderful trip.

Thank you both for the comments!

I really want to visit the park when they have the christmas shows going on. I guess we will have to do everything in our power to get into Florida a bit earlier.

I guess we may be driving straight as far as we can and waking up early Sunday with only a couple hours to have to drive!

It will definitely take you more than one day to see all the Sea World shows including the Christmas ones. I think we actually went back briefly a third day (Platinum Busch Passes) to be able to catch them all. You have to arrive relatively early to get in and we were turned away from one or two of them on the first try. That was the week before Christmas, so it may not be as crowded earlier in the month.
