We've had our travel trailer 3.5 years and have loved it! But another child is making the current floorplan pretty hard to work with. So we're entertaining the idea of upgrading.

Do any of the Houstonians have any advice as to whether you get a better deal at the forthcoming RV show or beforehand at the dealers?

We've found one we like, ticks all the boxes, OK to tow, but its a tad more than we wanted to spend.

If we go for it, we'll have it at the Fort in just over a month!! Woohoo!!pixiedust:

I have found in Houston the show has better prices then the dealer. But we ordered ours from up north and had it delivered and it was still cheaper. We saved about 7 thousand dollars.

We haven't looked at travel trailers in several years in Houston, but we have looked at motorhomes. They just kept coming down in the price. We looked at Demontrond and they had a big variety of all kinds of units (motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers) and they were alot less expensive than the two dealers in our area. Check them out online first....you can look at availabale floor plans ( new and used) and only talk to them if they have something your interested in. When and if we upgrade we will buy in Houston.

I will get a quote from Up North as you say - who did you order through? Was it RV Direct? Was it a good experience?

The best floorplan for us is a KZ Spree 324 and they don't sell them via the wholesalers. But another option is a Laredo and a Rockwood so I could still get a good deal from an online wholesaler.
