Changing the time on an existing reservation

Good afternoone everyone: A better time has become available for one of our advanced dining reservations. We still want to keep the same restaurant on the same day but at the better time. Is is best to cancel the existing reservation and do a new one or can you call and have them change the time on your current reservation? Thanks in advance. 16 days and counting for us!!:goodvibes
 
I changed a time and when I went to book the new time (before cancelling the old one) it asked me if I wanted to cancel the existing one and I said yes :) and it cancelled it and I got the new time all in one transaction online - easy peasy!!!
 
As the PP said, if you find a better time available, I would go ahead and make the reservation. The system will ask you to either cancel your current reservation (if the new ADR is within a certain amount of time to the existing ADR) or it'll just let you go ahead and make the ADR. Then it's up to you to cancel the old ADR.

I would not cancel your existing ADR until you have your new one in hand (or are making it in the same transaction). If you can cancel without having the new one made (or being made), you might lose out entirely. Same for the phones; by the time you call, the "better" time might have been taken by someone else.

I agree. Make sure the new one is made and confirmed before you cancel the old one ;).
