Hey ladies (and gents),

So after long consideration and watching the movie "UP" a gazillion times as well as seeing the "UP inspired engagement and wedding", we have decided to do an "UP" themed wedding. I have some ideas for things like the card box and the invitations and what not but I really need help on what colours I should choose. This is where you come in....when you think of the movie, what colour combinations come to mind?

The advice is really appreciated! Thanks!

I love love love UP!:yay: I think that is such a cool idea for a theme! Unfortunately I'm probably no help with colors though because when I think of UP I think of all the colors of those balloons. But I do think there is lots and lots of blue in the movie (think blue sky and blue balloons). And some reds and purples. HTH.

I think of the colors of the house: Coral, Yellow, Orchid, Kelly Green.

I'd love to help you with a color scheme, but I'm color blind (I really am. Not exaggerating). But what I can do is try to help brainstorm with you.

Something you may want to add...

Balloons (of course)

The pilot head gear and goggles that they wore as kids.

And, a ring bearer in a boy scout uniform.

That's just my 2 cents.

By the way... You may want to keep the cone of shame handy for the bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Congratulations

I love this theme. It is such a sweet love story...there has actually been quite a few weddings with this theme...google it "up inspired wedding" and there's tons of great ideas! this theme is so versatile...you can be "fun" and use the bright poppy colors or subdue it a tad more and use muted colors and a vintage feel...Best of luck!!!
aloha~

This is something we are thinking of doing too! Just love the film. Got a feeling there may be quite a few 'Up' inspired weddings in the future, it's such a sweet story :goodvibes

Very cool! I can't wait to see pictures. :goodvibes

My DH and I very much Carl and Ellie. So we wore the grape soda pins during our wedding. John had his on his vest and I had mine on my bouquet.

You can find them on etsy. :thumbsup2

I think of purple because of the grape soda pins. But overall I'd say I think of lots of colours because of the house & balloons.

Here's the colours!!! I love the combination it feels so cheery!

Thanks everyone (especially CityGirlLost for suggesting the colours) for all your advice!!!

You could also make a "Book of Adventures" for you guest sign in book with blk and whi pics of the two of you...possibly your engagement pics? Very cute theme!! I love it!!:lovestruc

Our guest book for the bridal shower and the wedding is "our adventure book" I duplicated Ellie's my adventure book and then added pictures from the start of our relationship and ended with our engagement pictures. I'm going to add more pages after and use it as our guest book for future events like our baby shower and anniversary parities. Everyone loved it! As soon as I have pictures I can post them. I think a great idea for the colors would be the soft subtle 50's colors that they use through out the seen when they show Ellie and Carl’s relationship progressing. I think of pale yellow, pale purple and pale green. I hope everything turns out great for you! :goodvibes
