Changing Rooms During Stay

We decided to add on a day at the beginning of our Kidani Village reservation. The only thing available was a standard view and we have a savanna view the rest of our reservation.

We are driving and we plan to stop to buy groceries on the way in. I know that Disney will move our luggage after the first night to our savanna view room. What I don't know about is our groceries, especially things that are refrigerated, like milk and yogurt. Is there anything special we need to do or do we just tell them what needs to be moved?

If it was our family, we would eat out the first day and go shopping after the new room was ready.

If you want to shop on day one, keep the grocery bags and when you pack, separate, dry, refrigerated, and frozen. Bell Services will store your luggage, and food until you call them after the new room is ready.

We did this a few years ago. We put everything in a cooler and it was fine when we finally moved to the new room.

Bell services will keep designated things in fridge or frozen.

You'll have to pack it all up so they can put it in the refrigerator. So when you buy your groceries, buy a styrofoam cooler to put it in and keep the bags.

Otherwise, wait until the next day to do your shopping.

Pack your groceries in bags. Put the perishables in separate bags-refrigerator and frozen separately. Give the bags to Bell Services and they will keep the perishables refrigerated or frozen as needed. They will also store your luggage.
When you ready in your new room they will deliver everything. I've done this several times with no problem!!

I also have never had a problem with Disney moving our perishables. I have been in the fridge at BWV looking for a missing bag - it is a walk in fridge and freezer - so easy to understand if a bag goes missing. We love split stays and so we use this service almost every trip.

I know that Disney will move our luggage after the first night to our savanna view room.

They don't move the luggage directly from room to room unless you are extremely lucky and your second room was ready before 11am. You will need to have them come up to your first room no later than the 11am check out time to collect your luggage and groceries. As mentioned, save those grocery bags. Bell Services will store everything for you. When your new room is ready (quite possibly not until after 4pm) you will call them to bring your luggage and groceries up to your new room. Be sure to tell them you have groceries as well as luggage or they may just bring the luggage (had that happen once and had to wait while the guy went back to get everything else).
