Changing room only to package

Can I book a room at POFQ and then change it to MYW package with dining like a month before we go? The reason is because you have to pay for package 45 days prior to arrival, and as a teacher I get a large summer paycheck and need this to pay for the remainder of the package. I would get this about 30 days prior to arrival. Is it possible to switch to a package so late?

You shouldn't have any trouble making the actual change. But, they are booked in different reservation systems, so they will actually refund your room-only deposit, and then need a new payment for the package. Since you'd be within the 45 days of arrival, you would need to pay in full at the time of booking. HTH!

Since they would refund my original booking, would I lose my room? I mean would they take away the room I had reserved and maybe say that the hotel was sold out then?

Robnkris..I booked rooms only to insure that I would have a place at the resort I wanted. There was a deposit charged to the credit card. When I switched to a package, the deposit/charge was refunded to the card Same rooms, no problem. ..just more money for Disney!!

If there is another room available, the CM may just rebook, and then cancel the original. But, if there are no other rooms available, they can go to Guest Services, who can do something behind the scenes to insure that you don't lose the room in the process.

Great minds think alike, I just did this today. I was told there is a slim chance of losing the room if there are none available when you switch & someone takes the room you just cancelled. Why that cannot just modify a ressie without canceling & re-booking I do not know & the CM I was speaking with was not the friendliest.
