Changing room from 2 bdrm to 1 bdrm

Have reservations for a 2 bedroom lock-off at the Beach Club Villas in June - not going to need all that room afterall. Was wondering if I can change my reservation from a 2 bdrm lock-off to a 1 bdrm without canceling the reservations and booking a new one since the 2 bedroom lockoff consists of a one bdrm and a studio.

I don't believe so - It is my understanding that DVC decides the numbers of each type of room before the booking period so they would not take that 2 bedroom lockoff and change it into a 1 bedroom and a studio.

No, you will have to cancel the 2 bedroom and rebook as a one bedroom. And if there isn't availability for the one bedroom, you'll go on a waiting list. If you had booked the two bedroom lockoff as a studio and one bedroom and requested that they connect, you could have dropped the studio. But you might not have gotten your request if you still needed the two bedroom. AND, it would require more points than a two bedroom.
