Hi,
We've already booked and paid for our trip in October. We're staying at the ASMu which we've stayed at before. However, I'd love to try something else. Is it possible to change resorts when we get there? Would they just charge us the difference in the room costs? Anyone ever done this? - thanks, nancy

What resort are you wanting to change too? Without knowing what availability is and what rates are I wouldn't personally chance it. We just got back from a quick trip last weekend - ended up arriving a night before we had planned and thought we would walk up and just get a room - we were told that there are no more walk up rates and all reservations must go thru CRO for any discounts. The resort front desks can rent a room if available, but only at full rate.

We were told by CRO, Poly front desk and POR front desk that no walk up rates are available. All discounts must go thru CRO - so if you are wanting to switch resorts with a discounted rate you should go ahead and call CRO. I will always say that I could certainly be wrong, but we were given this same info from 3 different locations verbatim.

Hi Nancy,

I hope I can help out another Massachusetts resident. Changing your reservation may depend on how it was made. Did you go through a travel agent or did you book the hotel yourself through Disney reservations? If you booked yourself there shouln't be any problem changing and applying your payment to a new ressie without any charges. Travel agents may charge you to cancel and rebook..

Definitely do no wait until you get there... I don't think any hotel would make it easy for you to change your mind and stay somewhere else.

Go to mousesaver.com and see if there are any discount codes you can take advantage of...

Good luck with whatever you decide.:p

I did book through a travel agent. My sister and I have used her every year and we were thinking about trying to book ourselves using the codes but were afraid and chickened out. We were afraid that we couldn't coordinate everything...car, room, air, passes....just so much easier to buy the package. I know, rack rate!!! Maybe we'll be brave enough to try for our trip in October 2003!! Thanks for your help. - nancy

If you used a TA why not call them and see if they can get you a different resort. They know about the discount codes and if they don't tell them you found a site that has codes you would like them to see if you could get the discounted rate at a different hotel. They are working for you I would atleast call and ask. The worst they can say is no. You can also try when you get there but it would be easier to try before. I think that if you are not going over Columbus Day weekend you will be able to find another resort. Good Luck:p
