Changing resort reservation

We are new DVC owners (as of two weeks ago!), and I have a question I'm not quite sure on...

Our home resort is AKV. We are booked to stay there next summer.

Once the 7-month window pops up for other resorts, though, how difficult would it be to change to somewhere else, given the availability is open?

Can we do that? Would is complicate things too much?

Easy as pie... Just call MS when your 7 month window opens and tell them you have an existing reservation you'd like to look at changing over to ___ resort.

They do this all the time for many of us. We book our home resort to ensure we have a room, and then try other resorts when we can.

Summer, right at the 7 month time, seems to be an easier time to change resorts. You may not get BLT or BWV standard view (fewer points, so very popular with owners) but you may be lucky and even be able to get one of those!

That was the purpose of wanting to go ahead and get AKV booked - just incase availability was awful at the 7 month mark.

No question on here is stupid! We were all newbies at one point and asked the same ones!!!
