changing reservations?

Hi there, can anyone tell me if I can book SSR for 2 weeks in December (SSR being our home) and then try to change for another resort at the 7 month date? That way at least we'd be sure of having a reservation as we try to buy our airtickets at least 8 months in advance.

Yes, you can do that, and lots of people do switch at the 7 month mark!

Go on a waitlist if you need to. It will be probably be hard to do. December is very popular because of lesser point costs and the holiday decorations, but people have been successful in the past, and here's some pixie dust, for you to be successful too!

Right now, the problem seems to be the phone lines...many many of us are trying for December reservations.

Definitely make your reservation at 11 months out then call at 7 months to change over. IF you have enough points, make a duplicate reservation until you get to the last day then you can cancel SSR. If you don't have enough points, just call 7 months from the last day and change over, if what you want isn't available, wait list it. You coulod also change day by day but might end up with two separate reservations and thus having to move. There are actually several variations on these thems depending on your sense of adventure, number of points you have and how important a given option is to the member.
