Changing reservation dates at later time if discount comes out.

It's been awhile since we've been and I feel like I saw some posts yrs back about some possible negative changes about changing a ressie.

If I make a room only reservation now for April and a discount comes out (assuming it's for my room category etc) can I call and have it applied? I've done this in the past just wanting to make sure it's still possible. What if I move dates slightly. DO I need to cancel and hope someone doesn't book while I try to rebook w agent?

Thanks for any advice.

We have done this several times. They can apply the discount if it is available. If you have to change the dates I would call and do it. I would keep an eye out because that is Spring Break time and if discounts come out they will go fast. I hope it works out.

You can apply a discount to an existing reservation. There are only a certain number of discounted rooms available, so you need to make sure you call about wanting to use the discount ASAP after it comes out. Once I waited too long and missed the discount!

If you need to move your dates and you're worried about losing the room, your best choice is to call. Don't cancel it and try to rebook yourself. If you talk a CM and they're able to modify the dates, it's quite likely you would get to keep your same reservation number thus preventing you from needing to pay a second deposit (the first one would be refunded, of course, but if it were me, I would just prefer not to pay a second deposit).
