We have a plane change in Baltimore - do you think 30 minutes will be enough time for us to make the connection? We are flying Southwest. Thanks.

Maybe, the airport itself and distance in the terminal shouldn't be a problem.

The flight being on time and how fast you can get off the plane is what will be the dilemma.

A 30 minute layover always has a risk. It's considered the minimum layover amount.

I myself have made short layover with no problem. If it were me I wouldn't worry until I'm on the first plane hoping it gets off the ground in time.

Baltimore isn't a huge airport, but if your flight lands 20 minutes late, you'll have trouble. Since you are flying SWA, try to sit in the first few rows of your first flight. Then, you can be one of the first off the plane to run to your next connection.

Airlines don't like to wait for connecting passengers like they use to, They are more concerned with their on time record and not having to pay penalties.

30 minutes is cutting it real close, I hope the gates are fairly close together. You should be able to get the arrival and departure gates from SW and then check to see how far apart they are on the airport website.

I just had a delta connection in Detroit, and I swear the gates were at least a mile apart, I've never seen such a long terminal building. I was lucky I had a 2 hour layover.

Good Luck, hope you make it.

Last week I waited on the ground for an hour while the plane's front tires were changed, making our take off an hour late. Many people missed their connections as a result. I had purposely given us a 3 hour cushion which I am now thankful I did.

As others have stated BWI is not an overly large airport.

SW has one of the most highest profile concourses in BWI, and most conveniently located, however it is all of concourse A and B. So if you have to get from one end to the other, you could have a long walk.

Also, if it is 30 minutes from your plane landing, you will never make it, especially if you are in the back of the plane.
