Changing Park Hours

So, in your opinion... there is a chance those EMH for MK stay for 9/7?

I would trust the TA calendar over any other source, even the Disney site. It is the most reliable, by far, but things can and do change. The TA calendar is where the changes normally occur first, though.

I just checked out the link for the calendar of the Disney site that was provided and it looks like they switched the EMH night to Saturdays. This is a bummer for us since we arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Saturday at 4:30pm. :rolleyes2

Us too!

Figures...it was the first time we were going to try a MK evening emh (until 1AM). Bummer.

I wouldn't. Disney changed the EMH on Memorial Day, and it took the travel agent calendar several days to catch up with the change.

To each his/her own. Nothing is set in stone. Park hours can change the day of, if need be, but past history shows the TA calendar to be the most accurate source. "Most accurate" does not mean "always accurate".:goodvibes

I guess I have trouble trusting a calendar that hasn't been updated since 6/13 when I know for a fact the Disney site has been updated and changed in the past couple days. Now, if the TA calendar had been updated today, I'd go with it. How do you explain Disney changing their site within the past couple days and still thinking the older version is right? I hope I'm wrong!!!! But I fear my plans need some major adjusting....

Guess we're in the same boat :(, still have a couple of weeks to figure out a new shedule. Our ADR are done , but we only have 2 days in the parks for this trip so changing ADR should not be a problem. We were going to MK on the Sunday because of the EMH so I guess we Will have a smoother arrival and go another day. There was no availabality for BOG anyway so we might get lucky another night...

I usually only trust the TA calendar too, but Touring Plans is also showing the change in EMH for MK and AK. I really hope it isn't true, but since Touring Plans is showing it I think it's real.

... Saturday AND Sunday (August 30-31) are BOTH listed as having EMH

That being Labor day weekend I can see them doing that if the new regular PM EMH is Saturday & that Sunday is the day b4 a major holiday.

How do I explain it? Well, I can't. Just like I can't explain ghost fastpasses, and other glitches. Is this a glitch? Not sure. I just wouldn't redo all of my plans so far out without more proof. It would really suck to let go of an ADR that you might not get back. I would give it a few weeks to see if the TA calendar changes. You can always make a few back up ADRs without canceling the originals until you know for sure. As much as it stinks that they change things, they do state that the hours are subject to change. If they find a need to alter the schedule for crowd control, they'll do it, even the day of.

This is interesting. Disney has nothing to gain by shutting their own TAs out of this information. This could be a new precedent, and one they will likely hear a lot of complaints about. Curious to see how this plays out.:surfweb:

EasyWDW now has a whole article about the changes in EMH. Touring plans had changed theirs several days ago. Guess the TA calendar is outdated. Or everyone else is wrong.

Still can't believe they went and changed things. This isn't like expanding hours to accommodate larger crowds. This is asking us to plan ADRs at 180 days, FPs at 60 days, based on what they published. Then pulling the rug out from under. Ugh....

According to Josh, starting July 13, most evening EMH at MK will move from Sunday to Saturday, and some morning EMH at AK will move from Sunday to Monday. http://www.easywdw.com/news/changes...ours-schedule-beginning-july-13th/#more-13766

Which is what I said in my post on the first page and everyone told me I was wrong ;) I wish I would've been!

I don't blame you for being frustrated. With ADR's and FP+ reservations having to be made so far in advance, major calendar changes like moving EMH days should have been posted sooner. That's less than three weeks' notice before the changes start.

Right there with you! Basically being told we didn't know what we were talking about, but turns our we were just ahead of the game!

And I wish I was wrong too....

And the changes start 3 days before we arrive!!! On the good side..... The MK EMH go until 2 and the regular park hours on the day that were the original EMH go until 1 so its really not that big of a difference!

So, I based my Christmas trip ADRs on many calendars - compared/contrasted - and I know some things will change. It is frustrating - especially if EMH dates change. Currently the December 2014 calendar has significantly less operating hours than it did in 2013 and I thought park attendance was up... What I want to know is how early should we expect the TA calendar to be 90% or better accurate? Does anyone know, can take an educated guess, or has actually tracked this?

No one ever said you were wrong. :confused3 We just said not to change plans until there was more proof. We now have more confirmation from much more reliable sources than the Disney site, which remains to be a poor source of info on many things. I'm sure their TAs are going to make a lot of complains (as they should). Haven't checked our schedule yet, but we don't go until October, so our days weren't too planned out yet.

Yep, happened in May too, when someone posted that the Memorial Day weekend EMHs had been switched around. We were told not to believe it because the infallible TA calendar didn't show it. (yet!)

It makes sense to change in MK evening EMH to Saturday when there are parties on Sunday nights, but I feel bad for all those whose trips are screwed up.
