Changing Park Hours

EXACTLY! These are exactly the changes I found for August too! And I'm afraid to trust a TA calendar that is older than the changes they just made to the Disney website. I would love for some TAs to verify that the changes on the Disney website aren't accurate, but I suspect Disney is making unexpected changes!

The July travel agents calendar (just change August to July in the link smitch425 provided) shows MK having evening EMH every Sunday in July and AK having morning EMH every Monday.

The Disney website's calendar has it with the changes. I did an online chat with a CM (although I know you shouldn't always trust everything they tell you) and I was told that the MK PM EMH have been permanently moved to Saturdays.

Disney changes park hours depending on expected crowd levels and they will change them right up to the same day. If it looks like they are going to get huge crowds hours will be changed to accommodate the crowd size and that often can't be accurately predicted until they get much closer to the date.

It may be frustrating but it's one of those factors you can't control just like you can't control that your best laid plans get ruined by a thunderstorm of hurricane. No use getting upset about something you can't control. All you can do is do your best planning and then do what humans do best, adapt to change.

I don't think anyone is "upset" about them extending hours. Obviously, based on crowd predictions, etc... they'd need to, and who doesn't welcome longer time in the parks. I think what most people are disappointed with is the changing of EMH. Many of us planned ADRs and FP+ around being in a specific park on a specific date based on EMH. Now with them changing, people will either have to try to change ADRs (difficult) or FP+ (slightly less difficult) OR pay to add a park hopper. Not just something to take lightly.

They changed the EMH for MK in September, too... completely screws me for watching Wishes. I never do Wishes because I hate leaving at the same time as every single other person in the park. It's such a mess.

9/7 was gonna be my Wishes night since MK was open till midnight, and now I gotta switch stuff up!

Looks like EMH at AK have changed from a Monday to Sunday in late July/August I've changed my 8.00 ADR at Tusker House to 8.40 so we can do Safari first. I have FP+ for everything else we want to do. It's frustrting when you have everything planned, just hope they don't change it back again

Where are you seeing this? Both the July and August travel agents calendars are showing AK as having EMH on Mondays.

I have read numerous times on this site (especially from Robo) that the Disney site is actually the last place to look for the most accurate hours and that the travel agents calendar is the one to use.

I hope that's true!! I spoke to a CM who said they did, in fact, change EMH days, but I know that's not always reliable. Where could I find the travel agent calendar for July? Thanks!

We fly home on Monday and planned on leaving our DS with my folks and going to do all our grown up rides on our final night. Tough to do that Saturday night with an 8:05am ADR on Sunday.

That's what it looked like to me when I saw the same Sunday to Saturday switch in July. When I spoke to the CM she told me the day for MK PM EMH was being changed permanently, which I took to mean moving forward from now. I went through the Disney calendar and it looks like ;

MK PM EMH are still on Sundays through July 6

The weekend of July 12-13 doesn't have MK PM EMH on either Sat or Sun

Starting our weekend (July 19) it looks like the EMH are changed to Saturdays through August 23

THEN

Saturday AND Sunday (August 30-31) are BOTH listed as having EMH

I also checked the first two weeks of September and the first weekend had none, and the second weekend EMH were on Saturday

So weirdly inconsistent!

I just checked out the link for the calendar of the Disney site that was provided and it looks like they switched the EMH night to Saturdays. This is a bummer for us since we arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Saturday at 4:30pm.
