I have a trip planned for June with my family and sister in law (7 people total), we are staying in an airbnb. My mother decided she wanted to come out for part of the visit, she ended up booking 2 rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter so that we can all spend our non-park day enjoying the resort pool with her. Room 1 is booked from Monday-Friday, for her, me, and 2 of my children. Room 2 is Monday night only, for my husband, sister in law and 2 additional children. We are only planning on staying that one night, as we have our airbnb.

My mom then invited my mother in law to come too and stay in her hotel room since it will just be her Tuesday-Friday. I don't think they realize that this might be more complicated than a regular hotel room. So this is my question - on Room 1, can we actually drop off myself and my kids after Monday and add my mother in law to that room Tuesday-Friday so that she can stay legitimately, have a magic band, access the pool, reserve fast pass + at the 60 day mark, etc? Or will she need to book her own room?

You would have to do this at the front desk of the resort when you check-in (or on Tuesday when you leave and your MIL arrives). You will not be able to arrange this prior to check-in as the room only accommodates 4.

If your MIL purchases her park ticket separately and is either listed in your mom's MDE or they are connected through Friends and Family in MDE, your mom can still make your MIL's FP+ at 60 days even if she isn't listed on the resort reservation yet. Is your MIL flying in? If so, your mom should get her listed on the resort reservation prior to her flight landing on Tuesday so she can set up DME to get to the resort. Otherwise, she will have to find her own way to the resort from the airport.

Thank you for your help!

She will be purchasing her park ticket separately (or well, I will probably do it for her if she does decide to come). I'm managing my mom's reservations in MDE and planning to make all of the fast pass selections myself. So if I add my mother in law to my MDE I should be able to do the same for her?

Yes she would be flying in. Good call. So if we get it sorted out at the front desk on Monday night maybe? She could use the shuttle on Tuesday?

Yes, if you create a profile for your MIL in your MDE and link her tickets there, you will be able to make her FP+ at 60 days when you make them for the rest of your family. It does not matter that she is not, yet, listed on a resort reservation.

Yes, I would go to the front desk Monday night. They may tell you to do the switch Tuesday morning, however, as you will still be occupying the room Monday night. As soon as she is listed on the reservation, you can call DME (or ask the concierge desk to help you) and set up her DME transfer from the airport for later that day.

If you have any children under the age of three, one doesn't count towards occupancy.
