Changing named guest on bounceback

Bounceback experts, please help! I've made a mess and could use some advice/ideas before calling Disney.

I currently have 2 sets of bounceback reservations booked, originating from 2 different trips.

Set #1: Room for my family for December 2025 and room for my parents for the same dates. Both these rooms originated from an offer that I received although my parents are listed as the named guests on their room reservation.

(Last month my parents traveled to Disney with my family and booked their own room so now we have set #2)

Set #2: Room for my family for April 2026 booked with my own offer and room for my parents for the same dates booked with their own offer.

Here's the pickle: my parents are feeling iffy about these trips and may cancel but a friend of mine would like to travel instead. Is there a way for her to "take over" one of my parents reservations? I already manage her MDE account because we have traveled together in the past. We would also change dates to February 2026.

Could I change my December reservation which are bouncebacks both linked to me to remove my parents as named guests and add my friend instead, and then move the dates to February? And then I would move my current April reservation back to December?

Or could I have my parents move their April reservation to February and add her as a named guest? And I would also move my April reservation to February.

You will need to call them, and ask nicely what they can do for you, but in general:

1) You can only book bouncebacks within 7 days of your checkout date and I'm assuming you are past that date.
2) You can add and remove guests from the reservation, but the *lead* person on each reservation usually needs to remain. That is, for example, if the room is in your mom's name, your mom normally needs to remain as lead on that reservation even if you remove your dad.
3) In the specific case of bouncebacks, the person that is the *original* past guest (the guest bouncing back) must bounceback during the same time period.
4) EDIT to add: You can change time periods on each reservation. Note that not all dates are included in the BB and not all rooms / resorts may be available with the BB discount.

With that said, I don't think they can take over Set #2 as your parents are bouncing back and you would not be able to swap to a guest not bouncing back. I'm also assuming you are past 7 days so you cannot add a bounceback +1 room to your own reservation. You may have more luck with Set #1 since your parents' reservation is your +1, but there is the issue of the lead change, which only Disney can answer (in the past, it has been a no-no to change the lead name on the reservation).

Finally, are these room only reservations or packages with tickets? If room only, the easiest thing is leaving the lead's name in the reservation and change the rest of the guests, assuming that you are within the occupancy of the room. Note that there are extra charges for more than 2 adults in the room. Also, if it's a package, you can drop off the tickets and buy them separately for the people actually going.

Not sure if that is all worth for the bounceback discount, but your best bet is to call Disney reservations. Please report back your experience on the bounceback FAQ thread.
