Changing flights

Hello, we have changed flights at Newark to Orlando many times before. However this year we are flying Delta - Manchester- Atlanta - Orlando.

My question is - once we arrive in Atlanta, do we need to collect our bags after passport control and take them to a different location like you do in Newark or will they automatically be sent on to the correct place.

Can someone who has flown through Atlanta please advise?

You must cross immigration and customs at your first port of entry into the US.
This is always true when you enter the US. Doesn't matter at which airport you first enter the US.


So when you get to Atlanta, you will go through immigration, collect your bags, go through customs, give your bags back at the connecting desk, go through security and get on your plane.
