Changing Date of Tickets with Genie+ - Booked with Hotel Room

Hello! We will be going to WDW in November doing a split stay. We booked four nights at Wilderness Lodge, the last half of our trip, and are waiting until possible discounts come out to book the other resort since we are more flexible with which resort/room type for that part of the trip. Here is the issue: I bought our 5-day park tickets with our Wilderness Lodge reservation. Our trip is Nov. 18-26 but the tickets are for Nov 22-29 since our WL reservation starts on the 22.

I asked if I could change the dates of the tickets in chat and the CM said yes there should be a link to change dates and if there isn't to call. I called today and the cast member was SO confused. They couldn't help me and told me that I couldn't change the date of the tickets but that if I book the other part of my trip they might be able to update the dates. Does anyone know which is correct or have any advice about what to do? If booking the other part of the trip allows us to update to the dates we need then we will go ahead and do that. The main thing is I don't want to lose the Genie+ that is attached to these tickets since you can no longer purchase Genie+ in advance.

Did you book a package (room+tickets)? If so, you cannot change the tickets - they automatically start with your check-in date. The only way to change is to adjust your package dates. Or cancel the tickets off the package and buy separately (which will lose your Genie+ advanced purchase).

So thinking on this more... to keep the tickets you have (with Genie+):

First change the current WL reservation to the beginning of your trip. You can either keep WL but with the earlier dates, or change the resort as well as the dates (because it sounds like you really wanted WL at the end). I believe this should retain your G+ with your tickets.

Then book the 2nd part of your trip again -- either rebooking WL as room-only (same dates you currently have) or flip-flopping your split-stay resort plans if you shifted WL to the earlier dates. You can continue to watch for discounts and try to apply it to your existing reservation(s).

I got it fixed! I booked the first part of our stay and was finally able to get a cast member to switch it and keep Genie+ without losing my WL reservation. I called 7 times before that and wasn’t able to get it done. The last time I called, you could tell the cast member was very knowledgeable and took care of it in less than five minutes. Very happy I kept calling!
