Changing Child Ticket to Adult Ticket

I read on allearsnet.com that you are able to trade the unused portion of a Child's Park Hopper ticket for an Adult ticket once your child turns 10. My daughter just turned 10. We have an old Park Hopper Plus ticket for her. Does anyone know if we can still trade in her Child ticket for an Adult ticket with the introduction of the new Magic Your Way ticketing now in place? Thanks.

Yes you can. But it will stay a regular park-hopper. If you trade it in towards a MYW pass, you'll actually lose a bit of the value.

I'm going to get flamed, but I would just let her keep it as is, unless you are not going again for a while. If she's within a year of 10, I just don't see trading up. I'm not trying to be dishonest, and I'm not condioning cheating, it's just what i would do. only if you are going very soon.

Thanks for the responses. PrinceJohn, my initial reaction was the same as yours. We will probably use the unused theme park admission in the next year, but I would like to retain the ability to use the three remaining "Plus" options for a longer period of time.

The only thing to be careful of is that if the pass is unused, and you attempt to get an adult ticket, you will be charged. The conversion will not be done for free.

SnackyStacky, thanks for that bit of advice as well. We've already used several days on the ticket.

But the thing is ... trading in a partially used childs park-hopper for an adult park-hopper for that same child is FREE.

It's not in any way dishonest to use it as it is, but it doesn't cost anything to get the right type of ticket. There is no dishonestly or cheating involved, because Disney will trade that child's ticket to an adult ticket for ... let me say it again ... FREE.

It's only if you have an unused hopper that you want your just-turned-ten daughter to use that it would cost you money to upgrade. And the OP indicated that it was a partially used hopper.

Understood. Those points had already been made which is why I didn't address them.

We still have one day left on each of our passes from 2003. Will they have to transfer these to my new room keycard or are the ones I have still active? I assumed they were de-activated once we checked out.??

They can't transfer the passes to your room key. You just use them as they are. :)

Thinking the samething here and if anyone that flames you for it , well they are just hiding in the closet.. There is no reason to change anything. That little hangup is no big deal.
