Changing an ADR - Can I do this?

I want to make an ADR for the California Grill whenever they release ADRs for it. But I have an ADR already for that night, which I will immediately cancel if I get one for the CG. I really do not want to cancel first, because I will keep the one I already have if the CG isn't available for the time we need.

What I am really wondering is if the ADR system will let me reserve before cancelling.

Thanks!

When I wanted an ADR for 9 at Garden Grill, there weren't any available early enough. I snagged one at 7:00 PM for 9 people. There was availability at 5:55 for 5, and also for 4 people. The system let me temporarily keep the one at 7 PM for 9 people while I made the one for 4 people an hour earlier. However, it wouldn't let me make the one for 5 people at that same 5:55 PM time. I made it using my DD's sign-in info plus her credit card. After contemplating for a couple hours, I canceled the 7 PM one.

So, no, I don't think you can make two ADR's for the same time, using the same info, but it appears you CAN make two ADR's that are separated by some unknown (to me) amount of time.

We are in the same situation. I made a "back-up" at 5:30 for the night I want an ADR at CG.

Anytime I have changed an ADR for the same day/time (or close to the original time), a message has popped up that I have a conflicting ADR and asks if I want to keep what I have or change. If you go to make the CG ADR and get this message, just click to cancel what you already had booked and it will continue with the CG ADR. If you don't get the conflicting ADR message, I would go ahead and make the new one and then cancel the other one once you get confirmation on the new one.

Just what was stated here. Go ahead and make the reservation like you would with any other. When you are ready to confirm it, a window pops up and states you have a conflicting reservation, and would you like to cancel the existing one. You hit yes, and keep the new reservation. You will get an email for both the new reservation, and the cancelled one.
