Changing airline

I am thinking about flying on Sun Country and am booked on Delta. To cancel Delta would cost about $160 in fees (Delta and Orbitz). Would it mess things up for me if I just booked on Sun Country for the same days and Delta and didn't cancel the other flight? The reason I want to change is I found out I can fly 1st class for about $800 on Sun Country. Because of my height (and weight, but even when I was thin my height was an issue) flying coach is miserable.

Never mind. I call Sun Country and found out it wasn't a problem. Canceling the flight would cost $160 and given me a future trip credit of $150. My math skills tell me that that is a bad deal.
