... And people ask if the investment in videoconferencing equipment is worth it. Bwa-ha.
Now that we have offices in 5 cities in NA, our company has invested in a lease on a private plane, with a full-time salaried pilot. It actually saves an enormous amount of time and money when we have to send demo teams to places poorly served by commercial service.
Our company allows us to pocket 50% of any travel savings we can realize by coming up with an alternate route to someplace we need to go. There are parameters, such as minimum and maximum layover time, but I still find it VERY easy to beat the prices the corporate TA initially comes up with. I have yet to meet a corporate TA who had any imagination when it comes to routing.
