Changing a Return Flight on Delta....

I just searched Delta's website for my departing and return dates just to see how prices faired... we are departing July 17 and returning July 22. We booked our flights in March, for $202. Those EXACT flights are now $958! I can't believe it!!

My question is.... we are scheduled to depart MCO at 7:14am on the 22nd. THere is another flight departing at 6:40 for the same price as our ticket. If I were to call Delta about switching our flight to the 6:40pm, would I pay the $50 fee to change and then the difference (which at app. $700 is a no go) or would it just be the $50 since the flight is now the same price as my original flight? Problem is, there's only 2 seats left on this later flight, and of course they are not together, but I could probably manage if it meant I basically got an extra day at the parks!

The only way to know for sure is to call DL. If the fare code is available, then yes all it costs is $50. However, there may only be one seat left at your fare class or something so make sure they re-book ALL of you at the same time.

It doesn't matter how much your flights cost now, that's not what you paid for them. You will pay the change fee plus the change in ticket prices.
