Changing a flight?

DH just discovered that a few of his friends are having a Dis trip that overlaps ours, and now wants to stay for a couple extra days.
Has anyone had experience changing a Jet Blue flight? Do you have to purchase a whole new ticket, or pay some sort of fee? (I would imagine so.)
I thought I'd look for some advice before spending time on the phone with the airline.
Thanks!

I'd love to hear if you were able to change your flight information.

This is our first WDW trip and first airplane trip.

I phoned last week to see about changing our return trip. We decided it would be better to stay 2 extra days in WDW. The return trip we wanted to change to was the same flight, time and cost.

However... I was told there would be a $100 per ticket fee to make the change... we only paid $69 per ticket per person so I guess we're not extending our stay by 2 days (sigh)

DaniB- did you have to pay $100 per ticket plus purchase a new ticket?
Either way, it is a lot to pay.... Guess they don't want us changing our minds a million times!
I'm going to call Jetblue this week to see what they can do for me..

Unfortunately most people buy the cheapest airfare they can find and that doesn't include the option to make changes. Most airlines will charge anywhere from $100 to $150 per ticket to make changes. Depending on what you paid or what you could save if the fare drops, it would have to be a major change to make it worthwhile. The only time they have been willing to make free changes is for a major change in the flight schedule. Delta changed us from our non-stop to a one-stop flight on our way home last year and when I called they put us back on the non-stop for no charge since that was where I was originally booked but when I inquired about a fare change (the price went down) I was told it would be $150/ticket.

When I phoned on Friday (just past) that's what I was told! So it would have been $100 to "cancel" my ticket, and $69 to purchase the new ticket = $169 EACH x 4 people.

However, I phoned again today and this person said it would be a $50 charge each, plus the difference in ticket price. The $69 ticket has jumped up to $104. So it would cost $85 each x 4 people to change dates.

Now I'm curious as to why I have been told two different things??? I have not changed our flight plans at this time.. But if I was told it was a $50 fee while the ticket prices where the same - I would have. It would have only cost us $200 extra then.

Let me know what happens when you phone.

Sigh... I realize. It is just so disappointing as this is our first airplane ride AND our first WDW trip. Wish I had known all that before. I really wish we could have two extra days at WDW.

Looking at the website leads me to believe that it is going to be $100 per ticket plus and price difference that there might be to the new ticket.
I quite imagine that is exactly what I'll be told when I call.
Now I just need to decide if it's worth it... This is going to be our last trip for quite some time (this is our official "last trip before kids") so I want to make it a good one!
