That sounds interesting. I'm not to thrilled with them changing it as that was mine and my dad's favorite ride, but I suppose if thats what Disney wants to do... Does anyone know when they are closing the POTC? I really hope its not when I'm going.

According to allears POTC at WDW will close in May until mid September. We are all okay as we are not back to the USA until October. However you never know. I have my fingers crossed because we are DVC members in UK we can only come once a year.

I thought it would be down longer also, but they produce things in one area which saves a lot of time. They want it open the same day the movie premieres.

According to the trailer out in the UK it says coming 7th July. I am counting down to get the states. Can't wait until October 12th

Interesting. We went on POC yesterday and noticed the areas to be changed were darker than normal. (We could barely see the skeleton with the seagull on top of his head, for instance.) The lighting was DEFINITELY different in that area. I wonder if they're making preparations already or if that was just a lighting glitch.

The last time I rode POTC, I was very disappointed that there was a completely dark part of the ride (can't-see-your-hand-in-front-of-your-face dark). I didn't like it and didn't think it added anything to the ride. Seems like when Disney doesn't know what to do to an attraction, they make it darker! (such as with the Stitch attraction and Dinosaur). BTW I have always loved POTC and am looking forward to seeing the changes you described.

Looking forward to seeing it. I guess this is one time that we are lucky we can't go back until spring 2007, cause for sure it will be finished by then.
