CHANGES TO PHOTOPASS & CD - disappointing

We were there in Jan and we had 188 pictures on our cd. I didn't realize that we could add anything to the pictures until we got home and it was too late. I still would buy the cd. There were a lot of pictures of the baby with the characters. I actually got a lot of candids. We had a couple cards and they were all put on the same cd. We've had no problems printing the pictures. Everyone has their own oppinion. I will get the cd when we return in Dec.

Help! I am kind of confused now! We also were going to take advantage of the offer.

1) Can you purchase the cd at home? You don't have to order just pictures
online?

2) Can you add any embellishments to the pictures at WDW?

3) Can you add any embellishments to the pictures at home online?

Any information is greatful!

Hi! I'll try to help you out.

1) Yes, you can purchase the cd once you are home.

2) Yes, while you're at WDW you can add the embellishments. A lot of people don't want to sit & go thru dozens of pics during their "park time".

3) If you purchased the cd in WDW without the embellishments, then take it home to print pics, you cannot add embellishments.

If you don't buy the cd in the park, but just choose to view & order some pics from PhotoPass online, you can add embellishments to the pics you choose to buy.

What happens if you bring a laptop, sign on the the photopass site and add your own borders and embellishments and save the picture (I did that before and later bought the pictures from the site)

And then had the CD burned???

So you are the one doing all the extras...not the CM's???? :confused3

I signed onto my photopass to see if I could get the CD at home with the extra borders and it says that if you order the CD it is without embellishments - only the photos that you take. So I don't think that even if you did the extra work at home to add borders you could get the disney borders. They also add Tink and more than just borders...and yes there are photo software or scrapbooking software that can do this for you but I sure don't have time when I come home from vacation to sit and add these on. It really was convenient to have it done at WDW - didn't take more than an extra 5-7 mins and I left with a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that the photos were all edited, cropped, fixed (as best could be) with extra little disney touches. I waited probably 15 mins in line to get it done but it was well worth the wait and I think most people who know about it would have done it prior to disney changing the policy. Heck, I would have paid an extra $10 to get it done if they are so hung up about money or extra work for the cast member. It's all in the little disney details that make it special and that was a really nice touch to having to spend $90 ($10 off for being a DVC member) for some photos that you could really just take yourself. A little off topic but I did notice that some of the photopass photographers did change the view slightly when they took photos with your own camera - I think that this tactic really is to try and make sure you don't get good photos with your camera or at least not quite as good as the ones they take! (more noticeable with photos taken with views behind vs just straight character photos). Also, I think one photograper put his fingerprint on my camera lens prior to taking the photos as I have fingerprint smears on the lens (which showed on the photos!) Oh well, I have the ones on my photopass and they will work! But I'm still not sure I will do it again in September when we go for free dining.

happypooh - Did you wait such a short time lately? The last few "reports" I've heard from friends was that they waited 30-45 minutes for their turn and then it took another 30+ minutes to add things and burn their CD. If it is taking 30+ minutes for each guest and there are only a handful of CMs available that line would be stacking up pretty quickly.

I'm with others Zane, Scrappy and others though. I will still buy the CD without borders. Those were just something a little extra. The real benefit is having so many great shots that I had missed and pictures with me in them. With it just being me and DD on our trips, I am not any ANY pics unless a CM takes them. The Photopass cameras take better night time pictures than mine do and can take more pictures more quickly than mine. Plus, the Photopass CMs caught so many great candid shots of DD with the characters while I had other responsibilities like helping open the pen, holding her book, getting my camera ready, etc. On a 3 day trip in Feb we had over 100 pictures. I'm sure that over a 10-day trip and as they are adding photogs in more places we will have a whole lot more in October.

I'm a single mom. During our last trip I took a about 400 pictures. I'm only in about 5 of them. :rotfl2:

I'm willing to pay the $99.00 for the CD to ensure that I will have some great shots of my son and I enjoying the parks together. :dance3:

I was so bummed when I ran across this post this morning. We are leaving for WDW in 4 days and I was planning on getting the photo CD and taking care of the embellishments before we left the parks. It was my understanding that if you wanted to add borders and embellishments that it MUST be done at the park before you leave even if you were choosing to purchase the CD once you got home. Does anybody know FOR SURE if you can do the embellishments once you get home and then purchase the CD?????

Even without the embellishments it's something I'd consider buying. If there's a lot of me with my group, it might be worth it. Thing is, it could easily be a no-brainer purchase. If they...

  • Add ride photos to the CD
  • Include embellishments
  • Let me add the embellishments from my own computer on my own time
  • More variety in picture locations etc. to get a more complete record of my trip
...I'm an easy sell.

We were very disappointed to learn after our May trip that we could not add the embelishments. I'm going to send an email to guest services and would suggest that others who are unhappy do the same thing. While I will probably continue to buy the CD I would also like to have an option to add the additional items - either self kiosk or by paying for an add on that I could use with photoshop etc.

Was thinking we wouldn't do Photopass next time when we go in October, but having everyone in the picture and not having to mess with the camera while dealing with characters makes a huge difference. We are also meeting friends at WDW this time so it will be good to have everyone in the pictures.

It did take a long time to do the enhancements. Probably alot of complaints about how long it took. Hopefully they can create a system that makes everyone happy.

:drinking1 can't wait for food and wine

There are a couple of designers on the Creative DISigns thread that have started creating borders to be added on to pictures. There aren't very many yet but the creativity is flowing and they do some awesome things. I'm not really much of a designer myself but they do some amazing things. This is the thread that was started and there are a couple already.
