Changes to MK Wishes dessert party-Same Day Reservations

When we attended a spread of desserts was available before, they remained out / available during fireworks but we're not replenished. I'm thinking they will have to either add another dessert bar or replenish quickly / more if they are expanding the availability. Not to mention the time involved navigating the crowds to get from TT over to the garden area for viewing...
I bet they will have a roped off area for them to walk back and forth for desserts.

If you want no sardines/little waiting, I'd show up around the old Dumbo location about ten minutes before Wishes, watch it, then loop around the front of the castle towards the hub and stand for CTM. You can walk up immediately before any post-Wishes CTM and find a great spot, no problem - even on the busiest days of the year.

(At least that's been our experience when we're there, including on those uber-busy days.)

No one wants those pesky sardines. I definitely won't be attending the dessert party now:)

It is completely surrounded by fences and planters with openings where the FP scanners were. I would assume Dessert Party guests will get a wristband or ticket (like they have for Fantasmic) that they will have to show to go into the garden area.

Oops, I worded my question wrong. I meant access to the Casey's side which was marked as regular, non-dessert viewing.

Would love to hear how this is all working now-- I have a reservation for August that I feel a bit conflicted about.

Regardless of how it may be working this week, I'm thinking by the time of your trip, things might likely morph into something different than now.
I think that I'd be cautious about making any judgements until we see how this shakes out over several more weeks.

True. I'm wondering how they will keep 'day of' guests differentiated from those who book in advance. I know we had assigned seating for the party but ibce fireworks begin & everyone goes to the rails to watch - how will they know who is who... Maybe they will be using Wanda to swipe MBs or something... It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

There is no longer assigned seating at TT, and the tables have been pushed against the railing so you cannot view from that area any longer.

EVERYTHING
has changed.

My concern is if we decide to get the same day reservation it will cut into our morning ride plans. Because I'm guessing there will be a line right at 10:30. Maybe we can get some reviews on how that goes. It would be great if they would sell them at our resort.

I wonder what the logic is behind the same-day stuff? Why not just throw them into the ADR system?

Perhaps because they can impress upon the Same Day people that they will not be sitting in Tomorrowland Terrace during the actual fireworks. If it were strictly ADR system booking, many would believe they were entitled to sit in the terrace as opposed to walking to the Hub area considering they paid the same price.

The last time we attended the Wishes Tomorrowland Dessert party was in Dec 2014. For the price ($29 at the time) it seemed like a reasonably good deal. The desserts were okay and the congestion around the buffet table was at crazy at times but we enjoyed the experience overall.

For our trip in May 2016 we booked it again at 180+10 days. Yeah the price had gone up to $49 -- but for the reserved seating we figured it was still worth trying as it meant we didn't have to line up early and waste park time --- so we kept the reservation.

But then they got rid of the reserved seating --- we seriously considered cancelling as now one of us with have to get in line early to get a good seat --- we kept it because we figured I'd wait in line and try to get reasonably good seats while everyone else enjoyed the park.

With the latest change we finally realized that it just wasn't worth the time or the money to do this anymore. We've cancelled this for May and won't be booking this again for future trips. I'm glad I got to experience it when the experience/convenience/cost benefits were there.

The latest change is making me more inclined to keep it. I was really worried about the lack of reserved seating and having to line up. But now, I figure my worst case scenario if we get a second row table is move to the day of area (space permitting) or watch from the standing areas at TTR (that people are reporting exist). So, I'm feeling better about it again. I'm strongly against "saving" a spot for an hour beforehand (not philosophically against--just personally it stresses me out and frustrates me), so it still feels nice to have a "spot." I am at least holding off until we get more reviews of how it is going. I'm sure they will change it again at least 2 or 3 more times before we go!

That makes sense. They would almost have to call it something else I guess? But as you said the price is the same so what is the logic there? Maybe I will stop looking for logic LOL :)

From what I've read recently, there are no more standing areas on the terrace. That may change with this new development, but that has been the case since they eliminated the reserved seating sometime late Dec / early Jan.

There's no more going up to the rail in front of the tables, but some reviews have said that there are a couple standing areas on the sides.
