Changes to ILL & Genie+ starting 2/25

This is interesting. Makes you wonder if this is something similar to what they did a couple months ago, removing one ILL from each park, or if this is something that might be more permanent. Probably no announcement for AK because EE is already closed - that park only has one ILL with FOP.

Hopefully it’s a sign they are paying attention to issues.

Wait. What?

Ok. I wonder if there will be an upcharge to either the remaining $ILLs or G+. Please - for the love of all things holy - I hope not lol!

Also gotta marvel at the breakneck speed in which disney keeps switching things up! It's neverending.

It's likely only a matter of time before Genie+ prices are bumped up a bit. The $ILLs are already a bit dynamic, and have gotten more or less expensive depending on the crowds.

It’s either paying attention to issues, G+ prices going up or sales are too low.
Or maybe it's weening people off $ILL for rides that could now be put into G+ to make way for the new rides especially at MK and Epcot (if they are built on time haha!).

Kind of like how they weened guests off the Virtual Queues and onto standby followed by $ILL.

I'm sure people would feel they are getting more for their money with more G+ rides added so that's great. That all of course depends on Disney not raising the G+ price in accordance with this change. Or maybe I'm wrong and people preferred the $ILLs for these rides. It will be interesting to read the comments!

As for sales being too low, Bob Chapek mentioned that they had much more pick up on ILL and G+ than they expected. It's 30-50% of park goers. So I think we can rule that theory out.

Could you imagine waking up tomorrow at WDW at 7 AM with your plans strategically laid out (after hours of impeccable research due to the entire system already being so complicated and tix so expensive so everyone wants more for their money), and having no idea they changed this up? I feel so bad for those people right now.

I do hope it’s in preparation for new rides. I know guardians is opening soon but when is Tron set to open? And I don’t think anything new is coming to DHS. Hopefully EE gets put in the mix when it reopens.

Well honestly this is a little disappointing. At least with ILL and staying on site for early booking priority, I felt we would be able to easily do some of those rides by just paying for them. Now that’s even more standing in line we have to do. Also further reducing the on-site benefits

Lol, that's sort of how I felt on the morning of our Magic Kingdom day and the Christmas parade was there. Since we were there to see and do Christmas things, I booked that first instead of Jungle Cruise. Slightly regretted it, but had an amazing view of the parade and wasn't fighting for a spot!
