Changes to Garden Grill and LTT

I'm glad there is one of these threads not getting moved to the rumor board! I think it's so nuts that they just completely get rid of a lunch that people already had ADR's for! Could they not have waited until the 180 mark and just not accepted reservations? People who had reservations should not be finding out about this on a message board, they should have been notified FIRST!

I just talked to my travel agent at DU and he said he had heard the rumor but nothing offical yet so i'm going to figure out what to do now any one have any suggestions for lunch, at Epcot?

That would solve every park dining plan I'd ever have, but they used to have one, and the problem was people would book it to get to Soarin' earlier. So unless they find away to keep it from happening as much. They used to offer a really cool ice cream social as well. A lot has changed at GG in the past few years and this announcement doesn't surprise me. Just slightly messed up my dining plans.

GG has never offered breakfast in the three years Soarin' has been open.

This is a bummer. GG's lunch was the best value to OOP customers of all the character meals, IMO. So it figures it would get axed.

I have a ressie for December! Am I not going to get a phone call or anything about this!?! I am supposed to eat lunch there. Man!!!

So, I guess I will call.... what would I do if I were not a Diser????

I also have an ADR in December. I will have to call and make a change, I had no idea until I saw this thread.

Guess its a good thing Im doing LTT in August before they take the characters away.

It doesn't make sense to take away a meal (lunch at GG) because as it is at busy times of the year the table service restaurants already get booked up !

We are going in November and had a lunch ADR for Garden Grill. We were looking forward to this since it is our first time at Epcot. I guess I will be on the phone tomorrow hoping to get a dinner ADR.

I wonder what they do for those that don't read allears or the dis boards and don't know they are doing away with lunch? I was just on the phone today going through ADRs and the lady never said anything to me.

Hi - Wondering what everyone thinks about this? I can't figure out why at MK, they would take away the characters from a popular character meal. I would think that at MK in particular people want character dining. Any ideas for the reasoning behind this?

I guess they will get a nice big slap in the face when they try to get into GG that their ADR is no longer there. And I know its gonna sting A LOT of people. The DIS makes up just a tiny porition of who goes to Disney. So unless the CMs say something to those who have made ADRs already, yeah, they are in for a HUGE let down.

LTT is my DS10 favorite restaurant. It is his pick for our upcoming trip. The characters make it fun and it is such a popular place to eat. I don't have a clue why they are taking the characters away

Dont wait for them to call you. You call them. Otherwise if you wait to long either A. They will NEVER call you or B. They will call you and when they do, you will have VERY little to choose from for new times and dates. Im gonna tell you all the same thing I said in my ADR thread. If you have a ADR for GG for lunch after October 5th, call Disney Dining and get yourself a new ADR.

Not all CMs are aware of this. So its best to mention it to them so they can dig for info and get you all set up for a new ADR. This way they also would know for any future calls they may get.
