Just got back from a GREAT week at WDW.

One question - what happened to the acrobats at the Lion King show at AK? They were eliminated at the show we saw - the monkey's just did a few cart wheels, no flips or jumps. Did this happen a while ago or was it just my show? I am hoping they didn't take out this part because it is one of my favorites!

Thanks!

I hope not. DH is not one for 'shows' but he liked the skill of the acrobats. :bounce: :Pinkbounc They were awesome and made the show for me too. I would hate to see them cut from the show. Hopefully, a couple had the flu and they couldn't go on that particular day. I'll be visiting AK on Saturday - guess I'll find out then.

They did the flips and swinging around on the bars and stuff when I saw if in Oct.

They did the whole routine when I saw it in early October as well. I'm thinking it was just that day or show. Maybe they had a replacement performer who, for whatever reason, couldn't do the whole routine.

We saw this show 3 times last week (please don't ask me why, my husband is a freak) and the monkeys were doing their usual thing at all 3 shows. I'm sure you just hit a bad show - probably not the type of thing that just anyone can fill in on in a pinch.

I know before they closed in the theater if it was raining, the monkeys only did a partial routine because of water maybe getting on the bars. Not sure if this is still the case.

Thanks for all your responses! I am very happy to know they have not changed the show - it is one of my favorites! We will look forward to all the flips next time!

When I was there in April the monkey's were doing there thing but what we didn't see was the girl who does all the ballet work who used to be put on one of those ropes hanging down...she didn't do the rope routine. I am not sure what it is called so I don't know if I am making any sense!!!! But can anyone tell me if they have seen her do that performance?!

I know that if it's below a certain temperature, they don't have the acrobats. The first show I ever saw was in January, on a day when it was very cold. There were no acrobats and no "bird on a wire" ballet. I asked a CM when it was over, and he said that it was in their contract if the weather was too cold (those metal bars would be FREEZING!

The rope withthe "bird" flying was there in July, if that is what you mean.

That may have changed since they completely enclosed the theater. Now there is AC in there, and I'd imagine there's also heat available in the theater. But, not 100% sure.
