Hi, I have read that Disney have changed the dining plan and have taken the desert away but given you two snacks. can you tell me if you still get a drink included with each meal .
thanks
cal:)

If you haven't been since they made this change, it's far better. None of the QS desserts were that memorable anyway, so much nicer to just pick our own snack or dessert separately.

Hi, yes we were thinking that , do you know if they have altered any of the snacks you are allowed like pineapple floats.

Dessert has only been eliminated from the QS meals. TS meals still include dessert. A non-alcoholic beverage is included with all meals.

Last September we booked free dining for August. I thought it was 2 cs and 1 snack. We usually just get another side because we do not like dessert. So technically with this change we get one less item per day per person correct?

On the quick-service plan, it is actually a little less, as you drop 2 CS desserts and only gain 1 snack. You do get more flexibility, as that snack can be anytime, not just when redeeming a CS meal, but it still is a little less, assuming you're not using CS credits on breakfast, which never included dessert.

On the table-service plan, it's a flat-out improvement, because you lose just the 1 CS dessert for 1 snack credit that can used on anything, anytime (even a CS dessert).

Oddly enough, it's Deluxe that gets the worst of it, because they lose the CS dessert (if they choose to use any credits on CS) and get nothing in exchange.

thanks for the clarification ....

Do you know if it is still ok to give your band to someone else to use for quick service dining or is it like fast pass now where only the person on the band and in that park can use the credit.
We usually do not get the dining package because it's too much food but are trying the free dining for the first time in August because it was a good deal. There is another family traveling with us so we just thought if we do not use all our credits we could give them one of our bands for them to use (we do not plan to spend all our time together)

This is not and has never been allowed. You could buy food with your band and once you own the food, you could give it to someone I suppose... but it's prohibited to give your band and PIN to someone not in your party so they can pretend to be you to charge things to your room or points! They are feigning your identity and charging things.

Your right
I guess I never really thought about it that way
We are all family but each is very separate when it comes to our magic bands
Thanks for the clearification

Good info here. I've been so busy and just read about the changes to the QSDP.....after booking a trip with a free dining Disney Visa offer for August. I agree with "jpeterson" that some of the deserts are blah.

My question is, if there is a desert that I want, can I use a snack credit to get it with my meal?

Thanks!

If it's available as a snack credit (most are) you can. However every time I mixed snack and quick service credits I had to do 2 transactions or the CM would just not charge for the snack. I don't know if the software just can't do it or if the CMs haven't been trained how.

I was wondering if you could swap your QS soda/coffee/tea for a snack item on the DDP? I'm unable to drink soda so I was wondering if this was an option. I'm considering the DDP for some of our October trip.

That was an option last year, but it's been removed from the literature this year. So, no, at least not likely.

Posters have reported having better luck exchanging the drink for another item at the resort QS because many will use their refillable mug for their beverage. In the parks there have been only a few reports of being able to sub the drink. At many CS you might be offered a bottle of water.
