Changes in ADR for 2009 question

Hi everyone. I'm just back from vacation and saw the change in ADR for '09. I am going in FEB 09 and as I can tell, I won't be able to make my resies until Oct? Does that mean I'm at a disadvantage since I'll only be at 120 days out. I'm so confused

Your disadvantage will be that everyone will be calling the same day for reservations, but you'll still only really be 'competing' with those that share the same vacation dates you do.

The person going in April will tie up the phone lines and may make it harder for you to get through, BUT they won't be taking your reservations.

Personally I can't believe Disney is being this silly and opening up months of ADR's on one day, but whatever floats their boat I guess.

I'm totally bummed and confused about the changes also I guess the "change" isn't the big deal, it's the concern that everyone traveling between Jan. 25th and April 22nd will be calling on October 24th to make reservations!!! We are going in Feb. 09 as well and I so look forward to that 180 day ADR Date...it's kind of a milestone in the trip planning process! Bummer that it won't be happening that way this time around

They are overhauling the ADR System starting late this month and will close new reservations for dates between 1/25/09-4/20/09 (Approximate dates) so those traveling between those dates will be calling on October 24th for all of their ADR's - almost three months of arrivals, which encompass spring break and Easter travelers.

It is going to be an absolute nightmare to get through for a few weeks after they reopen their system.

I think this is very strange also. My ADR date is November 3rd (arriving at Disney May 2nd). I'm hoping the lines have calmed down a bit so when I call at 7 am I can get through! I want CRT (lunch), CM dinner and Le Cellier dinner among others. I know that I won't be fighting for the Days amongst a bunch of others (only those arriving 9 or less days before us and staying onsite), but I just want to get through on that phone line quickly!!!

I sure hope they decide to do walking addition of days so that there are not three months of people calling all at once. If they walk the addition of days, then they can cut back on the amount of people calling each day the system is open.

I'm not counting on it though.
