ok, i figured there might be a rate increase, but now we have a new season for summer AND 6 of the 10 bldgs at ASMo are now deemed "preferred" and cost more money. :confused3

oh well. We're starting to plan a trip for April 2007 and that's exciting!!! I was just surprised to see both of these changes. Anyone know why they feel so many bldgs are preferred at such a big resort?????

Probably because they are the most requested bldgs so this is a way to make more $$ on them.

Also some of the newer preferred bldgs are closer than the farther point of the original preferred bldg.

I thought of an upside to this! Perhaps, since now 6 bldgs are considered preferred at ASMo....if you book those, you probably won't have school groups in w/ you. :goodvibes Always seems to be a lot of posts about Pop Warner and other school groups really taking over a value resort...but I bet they do std rooms and now maybe more of them will go to other value resorts where more std rooms will be available. Just a thought on the bright side. :sunny:

I don't like the change. However,I think this will cut down on the number of visitors that were angry because their REQUEST were not met.

Now I need to find out which Pop buildings are considered preferred. :confused3

Pop Century: states preferred rooms are now available in the parts of the 50s and 70s sections located closest to the main building. This is in addition to the entire 60s section.

I think this will cut down on the number of visitors that were angry because their REQUEST were not met.

Probably not. The folks now making requests are going to be the ones who aren't paying for the preferred rooms, and it's now less likely that their requests will be met because there are fewer rooms that they would find acceptable.

If you want to be sure that you are placed in the preferred buildings, you will have to fork out the extra cash.

BTW, the preferred buildings at Movies are now: all of Fantasia, all of Toy Story, and all of 101 Dalmatians sections.

The "extras" that are being charged for are getting ridiculous. I can understand a premium on one or two prime locations, but 60% of the buildings will now be considered "preferred?" That is silly. We are in Movies this fall, does this not take effect until next summer?

My sister just returned from her trip and she stayed at ASMO. She had requested the Toy Story Building but did not pay for a preferred room because it was her understanding that only the Fantasia area was considered preferred. When she arrived she was told that her room would be in the Love Bug area. She told them that she had requested the Toy Story building and the CM told her that Toy Story was a preferred room and she would have to pay extra to stay there.

She didn't feel like parting with her spending money that she brought so she ended up staying in the Love Bug building which she told me was a pretty good hike to the bus every morning.

I think I would pay the extra and get one of the preferred buildings if you really have your heart set on a certain one.
:goodvibes

We have tried Toy Story twice with no luck. The first time I would have papid an extra 10.00 because my son's heart was set on it. We got Love Bug and he knew ahead of time it wasn't a sure thing. It was a long walk, but they really enjoyed it seeing the deocrations and all. The second time was Dalmations and we loved it. The location was great and it was the second choice since they sort of outgrew toy story. It seems that the Toy STory would be loud with everyone playing around it. Both Dalmations and Love Bug were very quiet.
