Changes at Earl of Sandwich

:rotfl:

Maybe we should all do that!
I am all for it..............I am doing it now!!!:thumbsup2
Maybe they will fix it before I get there in September.

We'll be there in May...not much chance that it would be fixed in a month's time:sad2: It would be great if people wrote in and told them how they felt about the changes.

I would guess that they have reduced the sandwich size and raised the prices in an attempt to make more money and at the same time reduce the overcrowding in the store. It sounds like a win-win to me. :thumbsup2

I think Earl is OK, but my wife loves it. Last night, when I told her about the price/size changes she seemed disappointed. Then I told her they no longer sell the All American and she said "I guess we're not going there any more.

On a side note, I loved the burgers at Bodie's which is now completely gone. I hope Disney Springs brings in some new great places to eat.

It's actually one if my go to places in vegas for late night or cheap eats... I wonder if the Vegas one is doing the same thing.

I will be the odd one and say that a smaller sandwich wouldn't bother me. Both DH and I always had a hard time finishing them

I think the peeve here is that they both raised the price and made the product smaller. I for one have a hard time paying more for less. Either raise the price or make it smaller, but to do both simultaneously is a crummy thing to do to consumers.

My favorite too and did not get there a few weeks back boo hoo. Oh and I think the original price was 3.99 . Another bargain bites the dust. And they are putting cheap looking food carts all over DTD. Cheap looking. Did not check out food or prices!

The food carts weren't open for business when we were there last week, but we stopped at each one and read the menus out of curiousity. The prices are high compared to what I pay for food truck food outside my office (about 2x as much). They also generally seemed higher, for example, than comparably sized counter service meals in the parks.

Eh...it happens all the time. They still are alot cheaper than most places in Disney to eat. With so many on the dining plan they won't even realize the price change.

I love EoS (the Holiday Sandwhich is my favorite, I hope it's not scrapped for the upcoming holiday season). I really don't mind a price increase, but reducing the size and menu offerings is terrible. I hate when brands a tthe grocery store reduce the size instead of raising prices. We get it, things are costing more to produce. It happens. Just tack on the 50 cents and let us have the same amount. Suppose they did this with eggs or milk? Here's 10 eggs and 7/8th's gallon of milk...uh, No thanks.

I'd pretty much pay whatever they wanted for the Holiday Turkey sandwhich though, and it is still a relatively cheap place at Disney. I was dissappointed that I didn't have time to get to DTD on my upcoming trip (schedule's too tight), but now maybe it's okay.

Indeed it does, but I do not have to like it!

I see they have the holiday sandwich now added!!!! hope it is permanent!!! :):cool1:

Holiday Turkey was added sometime last year as a permanent for year round.

Nope, but nothing I care to spend time worrying about, will still eat there.

Has anyone else seen this :sad2:
I am so sad.
Our tradition has been to spend our last morning at a park, head to DTD for lunch at WPE, shop a little and grab EoS and take them with us to eat for dinner at the airport while we waited for our flight.
They have taken away my favorite sandwich (the cannonball) downsized their sandwiches and raised their prices. Not sure it will be worth it anymore.

Anyone on the boards been since the changes that can share :wave2:

I am so getting EOS for our meal at the airport!!! GREAT idea!

Visited there a couple of weeks ago. In one half of the Earls Club the only meat I could find was bacon. The other half had bacon and two very thin slices of turkey, and I mean paper thin. I didn't really think the sandwich appeared to be much smaller, but the goodies inside sure didn't compare to the last time we visited. It used to be a 'must stop' for us. It has now become a meh. If we need to go to Downtown Disney we might stop there only because the bread is so tasty.

I was also very disappointed that they eliminated both the Cannonball and the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwiches

I totally didn't realize Newark had an EOS!... Too bad I was flying out of a different terminal. I should have taken the monorail to get Earl if I had the time.
He was referring to picking up a sandwich at the EOS at DD before heading to MCO to fly out. Not picking one up at NEW.
