We originally booked ASMu family suites since we figured we'd need some extra room for naps during the day for our 2 y/o. After thinking it over, thought we'd save some $$ and book a preferred room at Movies and try to get the TS building since both kids love that movie!! Also, DD2 seems to be getting out of her napping phase and by January she probably won't nap at all!

Can anyone comment on this resort? Our kids are 6 & 2 and we plan to stay at the parks most of the day now that DS is older and DD can rest in the stroller.

Thanks!!

I've stayed in both and think they are pretty much an equal experience. I've enjoyed them both. We liked the fact that ASMU was quieter (probably due to us having a building in the back) but the trade off is the longer walk to the pool and bus stop. Not a big deal for us right now but when dd was little I did like the preferred room location at ASMO better (less dragging of the stroller!) Hope you have a great vacation!

I'd keep the ASMu FS. We went in January with a 6 and 2 yo and went back for the nap. Most of the time, DD6 napped (and DH!), too. And even if she didn't nap, DD6 needed the break from the stimulation. Also, the evenings were difficult in one room since they need to go to sleep earlier. We were at WL, but we are booked at ASMu FS for January, 2008. I ended that trip in January swearing up, down, and sideways that I didn't want to ever stay in the same room with them again if at all possible.

I'm not saying that you have to go back for the nap, but a.)I wouldn't rule it out (you might even nap some days and skip the nap on other day) and b.)if you can swing it and you are going for a week (vs. a few days), I'd stay with the FS.

We've stayed at ASMo twice with our boys. The most recent trip they were 4 & 5...they love it there and we've been very pleased with what we've gotten for the money.
We did not do midday breaks as it always seemed too out of the way for that and our kiddos seemed to do well without them.
I've seen noise mentioned a lot and I have to say that we didn't encounter a noise problem either time. The first time we were upstairs and on a corner in the Woody building. We never heard a thing there. Last time we were on the 1st floor in the Buzz building and still noise wasn't a problem. The only noise I noticed was in the morning as people headed out to the parks.

We love ASMo and will probably continue to stay there until our kids outgrow it.

I stay at the values quite often and have never had an issue with noise.

The noise issues come with :

1. The main pool is located very close to some of the value rooms.

The themed pools at the mods and deluxes are set away from the rooms.

Tip: Ask for a room facing away or located a ways from the main pool.

2. Turbo toilets

The Values are newer and have the turbo toilets.

Tip: Close your bathroom door at night because noise travels through the plumbing.

3. Connecting rooms

About 50% of the value rooms have connecting doors.

Noise will travel under the connecting doors in a room.

Tip: If you have noisy neighbors open your connecting door and place a rolled up bath towel on the floor between then close and lock your connecting door.

Some guests have found that using a fan or a white noise machines helps them to sleep better.

These tips should help you get a restful sleep wherever you choose to stay.
