change to school bread filling?

I got some school bread last week and noticed the consistency of the filling has changed since the last time I had it. It was much lighter and closer to whipped cream, where before it was heavier and more like the filling of a bismark donut. It was still yummy, but just wondering if it was a one time thing or if it's a permanent change.

I know a few years ago there were a lot of posts about the changes, but I never could figure out what the fuss was about since I had them and liked them. I think they used to be more of a custard filling and now it is more of an icing type filling. Not 100% sure, but I thought both times I had them they were very yummy and I was looking forward to another in a little over a week. LOL
