Change to National ressie - why move to Counter

I just received notice from our airline that our flights have been changed for our September trip (not happy about that!). I went to 'Change' my ressie for the National rental car since I will now be returning it around 4:00 pm rather than 10:30 am. When the confirmation came up, it had bumped me from Aisle service to Counter service. Does anyone know why this happens? Do you think I could call National and see if they will maintain my ressie on Aisle service?

I would like to keep this ressie since it only increased my price by about $12, but if I try to redo the whole ressie it increases me by about $40 since the base rate has increased considerably. I will keep trying until September, but I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else. Thanks!

Yes, this always happends when you make a change to a current reservation.

That's why many of us don't touch our current reservation.

Your only hope is to call them and tell them what happened. Maybe they can fix it?? As long as it is a Full size or under.

beattyfamily is right on.

Most of us have learned this the hard way.

Call National and make sure that all the information in your profile is current. I was bumped from Aisle to counter without changing anything.

National checked and said that the date on my DL had expired. After I went into my account and updated and corrected the information in my profile, my reservation went back to Aisle.:):):)
