We just stayed two nights at Cabanas 8A in an updated room. The construction was not bad at all and we were very close to it. You see the tower being built, but on our resort day we heard no drilling, etc. We had our car, but our room was very close to a bus stop. The preferred rooms are a little bit further from the main pool.

Are the cabanas preferred or standard?

Cabanas has a variety of room types, including standard, but the only preferred rooms are in Casitas buildings 1,2, and 3. None in Cabanas or Ranchos. The tower construction is closest to Cabanas.
