Change One Thing At The Fort

1. Food Court-When I get to FW, it would be nice to be able to grab a quick bite while setting up the popup.
2. Cable at all sites-We don't have a satellite dish so cable would be nice.
3. Free ice-We go through a lot of ice with our coolers.

I think a food court would be cost effective. I know a lot of people who would eat there. Just because we CAN cook at our place doesn't mean we WANT to cook there. I am on vacation. Cooking means cleaning. I would spend the $35-45 on eating out rather than work cooking and cleaning. I do have to say that using the grill this trip was not too bad. We used paper plates. No cleaning except for the cooking utensils. There was putting the stuff back in the fridge thing though. I know I am sounding lazy, but what is vacation for.

Wifi would be nice, but I don't think it is that big of a deal. The only reason I wanted it this trip is to keep in touch with dh since he is in Iraq. He did manage to call us everyday at lunch time though, just not the same as seeing him on the webcam.

A hot tub would be nice so that I could keep up hydrotherapy while on the trip. Hey, would a doctor's note get me into a hot tub at another resort?

Oh and of course, bring back the WILDERNESS!!!!!!!

I will say this if it makes anyone feel better. You ain't missin' much without the cable. What channels they do have, probably 25% are Disney promo stuff. 25% are in foreign languages. The other 50% are mostly ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, etc.

I said our first trip two years ago I wouldn't pay for preferred again. Of course, I did this last trip and thought afterwards, "Why did I do that again?":confused3

Why would one pay $2 to $4 for a Hot Dog/Hamburger when you can cook it at your RV or Cabin for more on the order of $.50.

People will because it's more convenient than firing up the grill, cooking, pulling out all the condiments, cooking a side dish, and then cleaning it all up! (Especially the cleaning it all up part!) If a family is at FtW for a short period of time, they want to use that time to see and do as much as they can - cooking and cleaning up interferes with that. JMHO!

A place to grab a quick bite after 10pm. W/O taking a bus ride to WL.

I would make the swimming pool from 'River Country" open to the campground and add some hot tubs.

I have thought this would be a good idea for years.

A Food Court and Wi-Fi.....

Sounds good

While a food court would be great I just never see that happening because of the type of eating habits most FW folks have won't make it cost effective. Why would one pay $2 to $4 for a Hot Dog/Hamburger when you can cook it at your RV or Cabin for more on the order of $.50. I know the thought is good I just don't see it being a profit thing for FW to do.

Thats like saying why go out to eat when you can cook at home. Because when you are there for 2 weeks or less you spend a lot of time in the parks, swimming, shopping all kinds of things so how often do you want to cook or even have time to cook on vacation.

I still think they need more places to refill your mug. Some people get thirsty after 10 pm.

I totally agree they need one at every comfort station. Then just give you a bar code sticker like at BB for the length of stay.

I'd love to see more trails that are golf cart accesible. Riding around the Fort is fun but if we could take some "back" trails over to Wilderness Lodge or something similar, that would be pretty cool.

I have thought this for awhile but figured no one would want me off roading in FW

We should get free ice every other resort gets free ice. Even if it was one bag a day.

Yes everything closes way to early at FW you should be able to get food and drinks till midnight.

Great topic. Disney pay attension to this thread.

I like the idea of food court, river country converted into swimming hole for the fort. Wifi would be nice. A few of the others would be nice also.

This is one that I would love to see come back. The train that used to loop around the campground. If they brought them back they could get rid of the buses and leave the roads for golf carts.

Sorry Folks but I don't the word "FREE" and Disney are allowed in the same sentence. Against their policy you know. :lmao:
DVC members get FREE Internet at the DVC Resorts. :confused3

I like the food court idea or the ability to go over to WL for their food court via a dedicated golf cart road with a parking lot at WL.

I guess it's just your perspective ... we bring a lot of prepared frozen main courses like premade chili mix, pasta sauce, sloppy joes, spaghetti, etc. Unless it's steak or something really messy always eat off paper plates and even line pans when doing something like pasta dishes that are baked. Thus it's like 5 pieces of silverware and one pot to clean. For things like HD/Sliders it's cold beans and chips. I guess my point is if it would be profitable then Disney would have certainly done it by now. While we are unique in that we stay a lot longer than most, but still eat out about every 3 days usually at a TS restaurant.

Finally, as Lone-Star said IMHO sort of proves the point I was alluding to

the number of times you would actually be back at FW for a quick meal won't be that often and you'll be grabbing that quick bite to eat where ever you are at the time and not at FW.

If I could change two things at FW it would be better coffee for the refillables and a nicer pool with a couple of hot tubs nearby. :woohoo:

This wouldn't be the first thing I'd change, but in addition to some of the other things mentioned above I would provide for newspaper delivery to the campsites. The resort hotels get newspapers delivered to their doors, and if I'm not mistaken I think the USA Today is included in our campsite rates even though we don't get it (can someone confirm or dispute this? I seem to remember seeing that on my bill in small print).

If they can't deliver it to each campsite (and I understand lots of folks don't want the paper when they are camping), they could at least provide a free stack of them at each CS. I am typically up early and would like to flip through the paper before my kids get up without pumping quarters into a machine to get something that I think I've already paid for.

Me too!

I don't think delivery to each site would be a consideration. However, I would like to see a newspaper box at each comfort station. Actually, 2 - one with USA Today & one with the Orlando Sentinel. It's a MUST for me to have my coffee while reading a newspaper! (Also, I have to do a crossword puzzle each day!)

I like the idea of letting us go to WL on a golf cart to eat there. This would work well as long as you have a golf cart.

It's hard to argue with that kind of logic.

Expand the food options with more counter service selections. Also remove things on the loop roads that make it almost impossible to get your camper into the site. We all know about signs, trash cans, and possibly some trees that could use pruning to make more space. Also look to the possibility of expanding future sites to pull throughs.
