Hi Kook My son has signed up to take "the test" next week. He talked with an Air Force recruiter yesterday and it's either them or the Navy he wants to join. It's weird right now for me.

That is wonderful news that he'll be taking the ASVAB next week. That's the first step in the process. How old is he? I know you have mixed emotions, but I think you'll feel better as he goes through the process and you get more information. I bet you have a lot of questions now.
DH is a retired AF officer and unless there is something very specific that your DS wants to do that only the Navy does, I (and my DH) would highly encourage him to join the Air Force instead of the Navy. Feel free to PM if you'd like to discuss it further or if you have questions.
Kook, I feel so better when you post about my son's "future" Thank you so much for taking the time. Yes, he wants to do the Air Force way over anything else. He would like to work with computers or some kind of electronic type job. Obviously after he takes his test, he will have a clearer picture on what he CAN do. He is 22 and my "baby". But don't worry I'm not a helicopter mom even though I asked him if he'd asked the recruiter if Mom could visit him in boot camp!!! Only jk!!
