Our stay at BCV starts on January 23rd, a saturday. My sister who lives in Florida would like to visit us on Saturday and stay over night, then leave in the morning. Since I've reserved a one bedroom unit and she has 2 children a one bedroom won't cut it.

How will it work if I try to get a 2 bedroom lockoff for one night only and then convert it to the one bedroom the next day? Is it possible to do this so close to arriving without having to check out and move? Can I do this without a big hassle? I really don't understand all this stuff to well.

:) Does this all make sense? :)

It's possible, but there is no guarantee. I believe it wil be treated like a request. In your situation, I'd call MS on Monday to see if a 2 bedroom lock off is even available for the night in question. If so, you'll have to decide if it is worth it to risk having to check in and out in the middle of your trip, perhaps more than once.

If the 2 bedroom is available and you decide to risk it, be sure MS notes your request on the 1 bedroom reservations (you will probably end up with 3 different reservations) as well as on the 2 bedroom reservation. Be sure to ask that the reservations be linked. Then fax the BCV room assigner 3 or 4 days ahead of arrival to explain and repeat your request. Be sure to include all the confirmation numbers.

It's more points, but another option is to see if there is a studio available for the Saturday night. Your sister's family could still enjoy the living room/kitchen area of your 1 bedroom during the day and just go to the studio portion at night to sleep.

Good luck!

You didn't mention whether it's going to be just the two of you during the rest of your vacation, or whether there will be others in your one bedroom unit during the rest of your stay. If it's just two of you, and your sister is only staying one night, I would let her stay in the living room part on the sofa bed, which is very roomy, and has enough room for her kids, too. Otherwise, the kids can sleep on the floor. Ordinarily I would not advocate this many people in a unit, but it's for only one night, and it's better than having your sister at the other end of the resort for the one night. If you don't love her quite that much to share a unit with her under any circumstances, get her a studio for the night--although giving her a Saturday night is, in my opinion, equal to loving her a lot, since Saturdays cost so many more points, even in January.;)

Candlelady, Just a note to say the 23rd of Jan. is a Thursday. The reason it caught my eye is that I arrive on the 25 which is a Saturday. Maybe just a typo, but thought you should know in case you have your dates confused.

CarolMN,
Duh, I don't know why I didn't think of just a studio for her.:o
It's only 7 more points than the 2 bdrm fiasco I was thinking of.

msmouse,
I've got the 23rd on the brain since we are arriving Thursday the 23rd. lol.

Cruelladeville,
I would love for her to stay the one night with us, but there are 3 of us. My sister and her two children would equal 6. I don't need the DVC police on our trail. :p Tho I have thought of asking MS if we could do this. The worst that will happen is they will say no way and I'll rent the studio for one night. I don't like to go against the rules. We'll see what MS says when I call.
