change in resort airline check-in hours?

Last week we learned that the airline check-in desk at OKW closed at 1pm - so at 1:45 we were too late to check our luggage for our 7pm flight.

In the past, I thought the desks were open until 2 - but sometimes DVC properties have different procedures, so anything's possible.

The good news is that the registration/concierge desks seem to be able to do actual check-ins and provide boarding passes at any time - the limited hours only impacted our ability to check our luggage.

So maybe some out there can provide more details on possible changes in the hours? When in doubt, speak with your resort front desk well in advance to get the details.

Here on the DIS I've seen the hours posted as 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and that's what I've been passing along to others.

The change in hours is not recent. But I don't remember exactly when.

If you look at the "transportation notice" (sheet provided on the day prior to check-out), it should show the Resort Airline Check-in hours as 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. That's how it was last year for us.

When Disney's Magical Express and Resort Airline Check-in initially launched, the hours for Resort Airline Check-in were 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. But those hours changed to 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to allow more passengers with morning flights to use Resort Airline Check-in.

Because passengers must check in no later that 3 hours before flight time and no earlier than 12 hours before flight time, the Resort Airline Check-in desk can now check bags and issue boarding passes for passengers with scheduled flight departures from slightly after 8:00 a.m. through the rest of the day (officially until 2 hours after midnight).

The hours and procedures are the same for DVC and conventional resorts.

Check out time is 11:00a and you can't normally get a late check out past 1:00p. I didn't think you could ever get a late check out at DVC properties.

You can check in up to 12 hours before your flight. 1:00p works with respect to flights and resort check out times.

That's the irony - we checked out at about 7:30 and went off to MK for EMH. But we didn't come back to do the airline check-in until we had finished lunch at MK. Figured we'd keep the bags in the car for a few extra hours to allow us the option to add or remove stuff before they went off to the airport.
