We're going to Universal next month before arriving in Anaheim. I looked at tons of hotels in the Universal area and the pickings are slim. Most places are well over $100 a night. The cheaper places got very poor reviews and seem to be in really unsafe areas. You might want to use a site like hotels.com and look at Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale and parts of LA. We're going to stay at the Vagabond in Glendale for $84 a night. They have free breakfast, free parking and free wi-fi. It's about 8 miles to Universal from there, and it's located across the street from a huge mall that looks like a good place to eat and hang around in the evenings. We decided we'd rather drive a little ways to get to Universal and stay in a nicer area. Some of the Hollywood hotel areas looked like places we wouldn't want to walk around in at night!
