I want to change the # in my party for ADRS for Kona Cafe on Aug 28th. I called WDW DINE and they said it cant be done. Does anyone have a direct # for Kona Cafe. I called the Poly main # and was transfered to WDW DINE. If not has anyone ever been turned away because the # of people that showed up for an ADR was more then your original ADR #? I wouldn't think this was a big deal but we are almost doubling the size of the party form 5 to 9

It's likely not possible because there isn't a table available. I'd keep calling every day hoping for a cancellation to go through.

It is absolutely possible to get turned away. WDW DINE said changing the reservation wasn't possible because there are probably no reservations available. There are fire codes to adhere to so if they are full, even calling Kona Cafe directly won't do anything. I would keep trying. Try to split up the party too. You may have better luck that way.

Try to get a table for 4 around the same time as your ADR for 5.

You need to keep checking for either a table that will fit your whole party, or as 3Minnies1Mickey suggested, adding a table for 4. If you show up with that many extra people you will very likely be turned away. It is as if you need a whole additional table, and usually there are not any extras.

You will most likely be turned away. I have seen people only trying to add 1 person to their party be turned away. I agree with PP's they probably told you it was not possible to change because they are already booked. You can keep watching for cancellations or come up with a plan B. Good luck

Yikes! Going from 5 ppl to 9 ppl is a big difference!!! its very likely that you will be turned away. But as the OP said, keep trying for a ressie for 4 ppl. Even if you dont sit together, at least you'll be in the same place. :upsidedow

You have to realize that now you are going from a six-top to a ten-top, in restaurant lingo.

There most likely won't be a ten-top available on short notice and you will most likely be turned away.

I would do as a previous poster suggested and try to book for 4 at a time near your original reservation, then at the podium request to be seated together if possible. At Kona larger parties are often accommodated by combining smaller tables so you might have good luck ending up together even if you're booked as two reservations.

Disney's ADR system does not allow for modifying party size even if there is room in the restaurant, so changes are difficult. All you can do is try to book a new reservation for 9 and then cancel your 5 (and that's all WDW-Dine CMs can do as well), so if there is room for 4 more but not room for 9 more the answer will be "No".
