Change in our dates

I'm hoping someone here can answer my question, since the CM I spoke to this morning wasn't able to...

We booked the WL for a 12/26 arrival and were thrilled to be able to take advantage of the great AP rates. However, due to a change in our travel plans, we won't be arriving now until the 28th. I'm afraid to cancel the nights of the 26th and the 27th for fear of losing my AP rate, since the cutoff for the rate was check-ins on the 26th. (Hope this makes sense!) If we cancel these two nights, will we automatically lose the AP rate? I hate to pay for two nights that we won't be using, but will go ahead and do it if it's the only way to keep the AP rate for the rest of our stay.

My second question is, if we do end up keeping and paying for the nights that we won't be using on our reservation, what happens when we don't show up for those two nights? Could our room be given away even though we've paid for it? Should we inform CRO or the front desk of our plans?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Calculate which would be cheaper; keeping the AP rate & paying for 2 days you can't use or making a new ressie for your new dates. Call until you get a CM who understands your problem. It makes perfect sense to me. Good luck!

Can this be done? Can you pay for a room and hold it without actually checking in?

How long is the rest of your stay after the 26, 27th?

I'm hoping that it can be done. I guess as long as I'm paying for the room, it shouldn't matter, since Disney is getting their money either way. I'm just afraid that they'll think I'm a no show and possibly give the room away. I don't know who I should contact to let them know or at what point in time I should call.

Ideally, I'd love to be able to cancel the 26th and 27th, but I don't think I can do that and still keep the AP rate. The CM didn't know either. I guess I'll have to do what the first poster suggested and keep calling until someone can give me an answer. Even if I end up paying for the nights I don't use, I'll still end up saving on the AP discount, it's just that I'd rather not spend the extra $270 if I don't have to. Plus, I'd rather have the peace of mind knowing that our room will still be ready for us when we get there! :)

We'll still have 13 nights scheduled, checking out on Jan. 11th.
