change in Loews upgrade program!!

What you are asking for is discount codes. Don't waste time with the Loew's reservationist on upgrade requests.

But shouldn't she be automatically upgraded to a suite with her platinum? Shouldn't the reservationist do that without hesitation if there is space, which there is?

You're right. I didn't read carefully. He should get the upgrade at reservation as it reads in the LoewsFirst policy.

I don't ever expect to reach plat. status:)

Was told during recent checkin that AAA rate no longer qualifies for the blue upgrade:confused3

'course checkin was a mess from the get-go; so i'm waiting for others to post their experience.;)

MF, I agree. I have never had the "upgrade codes" come up but this year it did. Maybe they release those "codes" when they open up all of 2008 for booking. This year you are able to book (rack rate) through a certain point in 2008 (I think it now up to June) whereas last year nothing was open until the opend up for the whole year. If I remember correctly that was in late July or early August.

blue, i'm so blue:rotfl: true blue!

believe i'll be blue forever, don't think we'll ever visit enough in 1 calendar year to earn any bump in status; let alone maintain it every year. I was told when I called a couple of weeks ago that you must earn/re-earn your status every year. Evidently, they are cracking down (the word must've gotten out lol)

i called the 800 # again today and was told all credits must be earned in a given calendar year and that you must complete the required stays to maintain the status each year.:confused3

Also verified that only qualifying stays (rates) are eligible for upgraded room when on blue status. They indicate that AAA & APH rates are not considered qualifying/eligible.

i do hope that this is the 'corporate line' and that there is some leeway @ each hotel for upgrades when guests check in to reward their loyal guests.

It sure would be nice if they'd 'grandfather in' everyone who has already reached their goals.:wizard:

yep...they should be "grandfathered"...i agree.

i normally don't care about the upgrades, but i will need it for next year....not maintaining is not an issue for me, as we are perfectly happy w/ Tower 1 at RPR w/ view of parks (or not....not usually in room long enuf to worry about it) :thumbsup2
