Thought others may be interested in knowing this: I called central reservations today bc I decided to upgrade to an upper level theme park view instead of standard view at DLH. When I had originally made the reservation I made it through central reservations. I waited maybe 30 seconds to talk to a CM. Well, today I waited 12 minutes. I asked the CM what was going on and he informed me that Central reservations Disney reservations have been combined into one department. So, expect long waits for now on. :surfweb:
I am kinda bummed about this, and yes I am being a big baby, but I liked booking through Central bc the CM's there were so very informed, cheery , and actually gave me all kinds of tips. She seemed to be as excited for me as I was. But, Malcolm, The CM I spoke with today was clearly just typing in info and doing his job. WAAAAAAHHH! there I whined about it.
Anyways, just wanted to keep everybody up-to-date.:wizard:

Thanks for the warning. You are not alone. We have come to expect the magic from Disney and not to be just another caller.

I called several times last week, I'm not sure if it was central reservations or not it was the number on the pin postcard. Last week I waited A LONG time on hold, both calls were made in the afternoon. I didn't mind though because I got to play guess that disney tune:thumbsup2

I called twice yesterday morning and had next to no wait time.

Yes, I found myself playing name that tune also!:rotfl: you really lucked out if you had a short wait last time. Hope they will find a way to rectify the situation.

I had a pin number as well, and spent an entire day calling and talking to different CM's--trying to get a good rate with the pin on the days we were going. Unfortunately all of the available reservations were gone at that price level--so we ended up booking a Grand Californian reservation at the regular price, despite having the pin number.

But what I found odd is that each time I called, the CM would quote a different amount for the reservation.

At one point I called about the Grand concierge service, and the CM I spoke to said the lower rate with the pin was available, and I could make my reservation for all three nights we wanted at that rate. I questioned her about 4 times about it--because she said the rate was even available for Friday night, which every other CM had told me it wasn't. The last time I questioned her she said sounded annoyed that I didn't believe her that it was available on a Friday night, and said "Fine, I'll check again...." and then came back on and said "it is at that rate, but now all of the reservations are gone for that night in concierge, so we lost it...". I said "so it was available at that rate, but now I can't get any reservations on that night at the GC on the Concierge level?" and she said "yes, they are all gone". I hung up and called right back, and the next CM I spoke to said there was "plenty" of concierge rooms available at the GC for that night--no where near selling out.

I know the other CM lied to cover up for the fact that she gave me an incorrect rate for that blacked out date the first several times.

The hold time each time I called was very long compared to last spring when I called.

golly... makes a person glad she stays off-site! what a mess with all the different info.

I can so relate. I just called Ho Jo's, spoke with a lovely young lady who was so kind and magical the Disney folks could learn from her. My 7 days came in at the price 2 days would have been at Grand Californian. I know it will not compare but for the huge savings we can eat at GC as well as Blue Bayou and do things up royally. I am very happy.

Sounds like Disney reservations is a huge mess! I haven't stayed on site since 04 and I don't think I want to deal with them again! Yay for HOJOs :)

OMG how frustrating! I think maybe all of the good customer service trained CM's are picketing in front of PPh,
