Change hotels within my 60 day

so let's say I have a reservation at POP. I book my FP at 60 days, then decide to cancel my res and stay off site? Would they take away the fast passes I booked at 60 or could one cheat the system somewhat?

Not planning this but was chatting w a friend were helping plan their trip and they asked me.
